9 Month Position Details: Summary of Duties:
The College of Nursing at WSU Tri-Cities is currently seeking to fill three teaching career-track faculty positions. We are seeking applicants who are passionate about teaching and working with students in a variety of settings across the nursing programs that we offer. The College of Nursing at WSU Tri-Cities offers 1) Prelicensure BSN, 2) RN to BSN, 3) Masters of Nursing (MN), 4) Doctor of Nursing Practice-Family Nurse Practitioner, 5) Doctor of Nursing Practice-Psychiatric Mental Health Nurse Practitioner.
Of the three (3) career-track teaching faculty positions we are seeking to fill, one (1) position is specific to obstetric nursing . The remaining two (2) positions do not have a required specialty or focus.
We seek faculty with clinical expertise and scholarly focus that will contribute to our strengths in teaching nursing in the following areas: family practice, behavioral health, community health, pediatrics, obstetrics, acute care, and long-term care.
The College of Nursing offers undergraduate and graduate programs in nursing to over 1,000 students system-wide at campuses and satellites in Spokane, Vancouver, Tri-Cities, and Yakima. News and World report consistently ranks our graduate programs among the top 40 in the U.S. with our DNP program currently ranked as #28 and our MN program ranked as 39. Our BSN pre-licensure program graduates more than 280 students annually and is the top producer of RNs in Washington. Our alumni and faculty are recognized for their contributions to research and scholarship, clinical practice, service and leadership at local, regional, state and national levels.

Additional faculty/staff positions in the WSU Tri-Cities College of Nursing are available on WSU Jobs . Teaching faculty are responsible for: Teaching undergraduate students in didactic, clinical, and laboratory courses, with occasional assignments in graduate courses based upon expertise or certification.
Advising undergraduate and/or graduate students.
The responsibilities of the position:
Teaching Assistant Professor is 100% teaching.
Associate or Full Professor rank is 90% teaching and 10% professional and university service.
Required Qualifications for Teaching Assistant Professor, Teaching Associate Professor, and Teaching Professor Ranks: Earned Master's Degree in Nursing.
Possess an unencumbered RN licensure in Washington State.
Experience in obstetric nursing, if seeking the one (1) obstetric nursing teaching track position. Experience in obstetric nursing not required for the two (2) additional teaching track positions.
Additional required qualifications for Teaching Associate Professor Rank Currently serving in the rank of an Associate Professor or equivalent at a post-secondary institution, OR; At least 4 years of academic teaching experience with demonstrated expertise in academic advising, teaching, integration of theory and evidence-based practice in instructional approaches, demonstrated leadership, engagement and dissemination in local community, region, state or national professional or health-care related activities.
Additional required qualifications for Teaching Professor Rank Currently serving in the rank of a Full Professor or equivalent at a post-secondary institution, OR; At least eight (8) years of academic teaching experience and expertise and creativity as a master teacher in specialty areas in undergraduate and/or graduate courses, and
Current national or international board certification as a Certified Nurse Educator or in a clinical area as required; Demonstrated mastery in integration of theory and evidence based practice activities into innovative instructional approaches; Demonstrated leadership in college or campus activities pursuing continuous quality improvement of nursing education and the nurse educator role; Demonstrated leadership in college activities, policy formation; Demonstrated effective leadership and increased dissemination & engagement in local regional, state or national activities.
Preferred Qualifications for All Ranks: Experience in teaching didactic and clinical courses and advising students.
Experience with technology-assisted education modalities.
Experience working with diverse populations and/or students.
Demonstrated ability to utilize practice-based research studies to address salient nursing and health care issues.
Nursing leadership experience and engagement in professional nursing organizations.
Interdisciplinary/ interprofessional collaboration in practice and/or education
Experience as a preceptor for prelicensure Bachelor of Science Nursing (BSN), Family Nurse Practitioner (FNP), and/or Psychiatric Mental Health Nurse Practitioner (PMHNP) students.

In accordance with RCW 49.58.110 , the above salary reflects the full salary range for this position. Individual placement within the range is based on the candidate's current experience, education, skills, and abilities related to the position.WSU offers a comprehensive benefits package which includes paid sick and vacation leave; paid holidays; medical, dental, life and disability insurance package for employees and dependents; retirement; deferred compensation and optional supplemental retirement accounts. This is a temporary, fixed term, career track appointment which is intended to be renewed annually dependent upon performance, funding, and mutual agreement.
