Job DescriptionPurpose: The Collision and Training Manager runs an efficient and profitable collision repair department through productive staffing, associate retention, cost controls, achievement of objectives, and maintenance of all work performed records. Ensures that staff assigned to the collision department is working in a safe, efficient and productive manner.
Duties and Responsibilities: Attend trade walks dailySchedule all internal collision workDirect and dispatch technicians and/or detailers specified RO'sCreate and maintain schedule for collision technicians and other associatesMonitor daily productivity reports and corresponding payroll recordsFacilitate writing and booking all Used Car RO'sFacilitate ordering parts and billing out parts for used vehiclesFacilitate sending out sublets, keeping day to day track of their progressProperly posting all sublets to appropriate ROMaintain service and detail timelines (turns) within 3 to 5 days (Pay Plan Based)Ensure vendor repairs are approved and consistent in pricing with negotiated pricingForecast goals and objectives for the department and strive to meet themResponsible for hiring, training, motivating, counseling, and monitoring the performance of collision department staffMonitor and control the performance of the department using appropriate reports, tracking systems, and surveysStrive for harmony and teamwork within the department and with other departmentsUnderstand, keep abreast of, and comply with federal, state, and local regulations that affect service operations, such as hazardous waste disposal, OSHA Right-to-Know, etc.Ensure compliance with manufacturer warranty and policy proceduresAccount for all documents; ensure that none are missing and all are processed correctlyFacilitate and/or conduct technical training and send associates to appropriate training schools as neededMonitor and follow up on all parts orders with the parts manager to ensure availabilityMaintain high-quality reconditioning standards and minimize comebacks. Conduct periodic spot checks of completed jobs for thoroughness and qualityKeep abreast of new equipment and tools available and recommend purchasesEnsure that work areas are kept clean and free of workplace hazardsEnsure proper care, storage and inventory of special toolsAttend managers' meetings as scheduledMaintain a professional appearance and that of the recon teamRealize that the company's business is built on guest satisfaction and devote oneself to guaranteeing satisfaction to guestsDetermine management, production and quality requirements by asking questions and listeningAttend Sonic meetings as requestedMaintain a follow-up system that encourages follow through with assigned projectsEstablish personal performance goals that are consistent with company standards of productivity and devise a strategy to meet those goalsReview and analyze actions at the end of each day, week, month, and year to determine how to better utilize time and plans more effectivelyUnderstand the terminology of the business and keep abreast of technology changes in the productKnow and understand the federal, state and local requirements which govern the company's businessFollow directions from a supervisorUnderstand and follow work rules and proceduresAccept constructive criticismInteract well with others and be a positive influence on associate moraleMust sign voluntarily the company's non-disclosure and confidentiality agreement and be able to be faithful to its provisionsQualifications: High school diploma or the equivalentAbility to read and comprehend instructions and informationProfessional personal appearanceAbility to meet company's production and quality standardsAll applicants must be authorized to work in the USAAll applicants must perform duties and responsibilities in a safe mannerAll applicants must be able to demonstrate ability to pass pre-employment testing to include background checks, MVR, drug test, and valid driver license.It's time to make the most important move of your career.
