ABOUT US Hi, future teammate!
We are a dedicated group of data nerds inspired by the extraordinary things that can happen when people come together as a community.
We partner with organizations that see community building as a core part of their work. Together, we build customized (and beautiful) data tools and strategies to make their work easier and more impactful. Our primary tool is Salesforce, and we work with clients to not only migrate their data and improve data management, but to make sure that what they measure is actually driving growth and impact. We're now in our 10th year with 18 full-time team members.
What we look for in every OpenTenter - our five Core Values: Work experience: 2+ years experience with administering Salesforce. This means you have spent significant time in the Setup menu of Salesforce, ideally on a daily basis.Looking for candidates with a Salesforce Administrator certification, but if you basically have those skills but just haven't taken the test, we'd still love to see your application.Experience with Campaign Monitor, MailChimp, Asana, Classy, TractionRec, and Zapier are all a plus.1+ years experience with FormAssembly or another Salesforce-integrated forms tool1+ years experience with nonprofits, either on a professional or volunteer level.Experience in philanthropic donor data management is a plus. Location: Available to work in person in Boulder and Denver every week. Relocation assistance available. OpenTent supports the Boulder and Denver Jewish Community Centers (JCCs), two dynamic and community-centered organizations, with their use of Salesforce and related systems. As part of that support, we are seeking a Salesforce Administrator who will split their time between these two organizations: two days per week onsite at the Boulder JCC, two days per week onsite at the Denver JCC, and one day working from home. You'll be deeply embedded in the organizational context for both organizations, like a typical Salesforce Admin role - AND you'll be a full member of the OpenTent team.
The Salesforce Admin will work closely with JCC users to help them get the most out of Salesforce and Amilia (recreation management software). OpenTent has built an integration between these two systems to make sure all Amilia data flows to Salesforce - but staff will be using both systems, so you'll be working across both to make sure users are successful.
You will also work closely with the OpenTent project team, which is focused on high-level, complex system improvements and upgrades. You will be a stakeholder in decisions undertaken by this team for how to streamline and improve each JCC's Salesforce instance.
This is a role which requires a customer-service mindset in addition to technical experience. Communication with staff users and ensuring that all feel seen, heard, and understood is a critical part of this role. This also encompasses determining the correct priority for feature requests, bug reports, and support tickets.
We'll be looking to you to proactively communicate to many different stakeholders around project progress, timelines, trainings, and emerging needs. You will be sharing your time between the two organizations, so you should be excellent at time management, recognizing jointly beneficial opportunities, and balancing competing workloads.
Our Salesforce Admin will focus on individual 1:1 user support, and will also work with teammates to tackle more complex problems. In collaboration with others, you will:
Configure Salesforce and related applications on a basic admin level. This includes, but is not limited to: automation, reports + dashboards, custom objects and fields, data hygiene, data imports, user interface improvements, and mobile administration. It also includes configurations involving Campaign Monitor, MailChimp, FormAssembly, Asana, Classy, Formstack, TractionRec, Zapier, and others. Manage all aspects of user and license management including new user setup/deactivation, roles, profiles, permissions, public groups, OWD, and sharing rules. You will also manage the Sandbox environments. Train other staff members individually and by department on best-practice use of Salesforce based on organizational needs. Document key policies, procedures, best practices and use cases specific to the organization.Develop and maintain reports and dashboards, providing high-level insights and trends in organizational performance to support decision-making.Support staff by responding to training needs and technical questions, and logging and escalating more complex support requests to OpenTent.Identify organizational trends and cultural vibes in the client office to help strengthen the quality of OpenTent consulting work.Visit and work from both JCCs weekly to build relationships and conduct in-person trainings and requirements-gathering. JCC staff users and constituents have seamless experiences with Salesforce (the system works!).JCC staff users love working with you and feel supported by you.Work in alignment with and have a clear understanding that you will be reporting to key leadership at both JCCs and OpenTent and that will require on-going open communication and accountability.Regular system maintenance is happening proactively. Our OpenTent Engineers have the information necessary to work on more complex aspects of the system.Requests for help (new features, bugs, and support tickets) are addressed transparently in a timely manner.JCC staff users are able to work more efficiently and unlock their best work through improved processes.Stakeholders receive required training on a regular basis. Compensation for this role is $75-85,000/year, with some flexibility depending on experience. The Salesforce Admin will be eligible for all of the great benefits offered to full-time OpenTent employees, including excellent no-premium healthcare, unlimited PTO, 401k matching after one year of service, team retreats, paid parental leave, continued professional development, and much more.
Must be available to work in person in BOTH Denver AND Boulder two days per week each. Days to be defined in partnership with both JCC teams.
