Position Overview:
Seeking a skilled Commercial Carpenter to join our team in Des, Iowa. This role involves a range of carpentry tasks for commercial buildings, including framing, drywall installation, trim work, and cabinetry. The ideal candidate will have 2-5 years of experience, proficiency with carpentry tools, and a strong understanding of building codes and safety regulations.
Key Responsibilities:
Carpentry Work:
Execute various carpentry tasks such as framing, drywall installation, trim work, and cabinetry for commercial projects.
Blueprint Interpretation:
Read and interpret blueprints, schematics, and building codes to determine layout and installation requirements.
Material Handling:
Select, prepare, and manage materials including wood, metal studs, and composites. Ensure proper handling, storage, and waste management.
Measurements and Layouts:
Measure, cut, shape, and assemble materials to ensure precision and alignment as per project specifications.
Installation:
Install structures like partitions, ceilings, cabinets, and fixtures, ensuring durability and quality.
Qualifications:
Experience:
2-5 years of carpentry experience, preferably with a focus on commercial projects.
Skills:
Proficient in using hand and power tools, including saws, drills, levels, and measuring instruments. Ability to read and interpret blueprints and technical drawings.
Knowledge:
Strong understanding of carpentry techniques, building codes, and safety regulations.
Attention to Detail:
High level of accuracy and precision in carpentry work.
Communication:
Strong verbal and written communication skills for effective team collaboration.
