Overberg Construction, Inc. is seeking a dedicated and detail-oriented Assistant Project Manager to support our Operations Manager and Project Managers in planning, executing, and finalizing projects.
This role is crucial for ensuring projects are completed on time, within budget, and to the highest standards.
The Assistant Project Manager will assist in coordinating resources, managing documentation, and maintaining quality control throughout the project life cycle.

Responsibilities include but are not limited to: Project Planning and Coordination: Assist in defining project estimates, scope, and objectives, involving all relevant stakeholders.
Develop detailed project plans to monitor and track progress.
Coordinate internal resources and third parties/vendors for the flawless execution of projects.
Support the Project Manager in day-to-day project activities and decision-making processes.
Project Management: Assist in managing changes to project scope, schedule, and costs using appropriate verification techniques.
Measure project performance, identify and quantify variances, perform corrective actions, and communicate with all stakeholders.
Report and escalate issues to management as needed.
Provide administrative support as needed, ensuring smooth project operations.
Documentation and Reporting: Create and maintain comprehensive project documentation, including RFPs, Submittals, RFIs, Change Orders, Weekly Reports, and invoicing.
Ensure all project records are up-to-date and accurately reflect project status and changes.
The ideal candidate should possess: Bachelor's degree in Construction Management, Engineering, or a related field is preferred.
Minimum of 2 years of experience in project management or a similar role within the construction industry.
Solid organizational skills, including attention to detail and multitasking abilities.
Strong working knowledge of Microsoft Office and project management software.
Excellent client-facing and internal communication skills.
Strong analytical and problem-solving capabilities.
Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
Knowledge of construction methods and regulations.
Project Management Professional (PMP) certification is a plus.
Skills and Competencies: Effective communication and interpersonal skills.
Leadership ability to manage multiple stakeholders and foster teamwork.
Proactive and resourceful with a strong sense of initiative.
Ability to handle pressure and meet tight deadlines.
High level of professionalism and a strong work ethic.
Working Conditions: Primarily office-based with regular visits to construction sites.
Must be able to work in a fast-paced environment with tight deadlines.
May require travel to project sites or client meetings.
Physical Demands: Must have the physical ability to climb stairs and ladders, negotiate construction areas, and use construction personnel hoists.
Specific vision abilities required include close vision, peripheral vision, depth perception, and the ability to adjust focus.
Must be able to perform duties that require handling, sitting, talking, hearing, standing, climbing, balancing, stooping, kneeling, crouching, or crawling.
Occasionally lift and/or move up to 50 pounds.
Work Environment: The work environment may expose the employee to moving mechanical parts, high places, fumes or airborne particles, outside weather conditions, and risk of electrical shock.
The noise level in these work environments is usually moderate to very loud.
