We are seeking a Commercial Insurance Sales Representative to support our client, a leading mid-Atlantic property casualty carrier with an A+ Rating from AM Best for Financial Strength. This role is pivotal in expanding distribution partner relationships, securing new business, and promoting products in the Central Pennsylvania region. The ideal candidate will be based in Central Pennsylvania to effectively collaborate with distribution partners and drive business growth in small, mid, and large-sized markets.
Key Responsibilities: Develop and maintain strong relationships with agency and brokerage partners to secure new business.Evaluate existing agent relationships and books of business in Central Pennsylvania to identify and recommend new commercial lines distribution partners.Facilitate the appointment process for qualified agents aligned with the client's exclusive distribution model.Upsell, cross-sell and recapture opportunities with agency/brokerage partners.Conduct new business proposal meetings and present tailored plan options to distribution partners.Lead pre-renewal discussions with key accounts and agency partners.Collaborate with underwriting to analyze competitor plans and ensure competitive pricing.Implement and oversee the annual planning process, ensuring alignment with strategic goals.Review underwriting appetites and service offerings with agencies and brokers to optimize partnership value.Attend point-of-sale meetings with agencies and brokers as needed.Manage the contracting, onboarding, and termination processes for agencies and brokers.Maintain detailed agency/broker profiles for effective relationship management.Represent the organization at corporate events, including chamber meetings, marketing functions, and philanthropic initiatives. Qualifications: Proven sales experience with a strong track record in commercial lines products, specifically within Central Pennsylvania.Exceptional oral and written communication skills with the ability to convey complex information clearly.Comprehensive knowledge of standard commercial insurance products, rating procedures, underwriting practices, and industry operations.Proficiency in managing multiple clients, tasks, and priorities.Expertise in analyzing market trends and aligning opportunities with business strategies.Strong negotiation, problem-solving, and project management abilities.Proficient in Microsoft Office Suite (Outlook, Word, Excel).Self-motivated, professional, and results-oriented with a commitment to achieving strategic objectives. Education and Experience: Bachelor's degree preferred; High School Diploma or GED required.Minimum of 5 years of experience in commercial insurance, focusing on marketing, sales, underwriting, distribution, or relationship management.Familiarity with the Central Pennsylvania insurance marketplace, including agent appointments and account opportunities.
