Role Profile JOB DETAILS Position Title Commercial Interior Painter/ Finisher (Building & Remodeling) Location Ship Channel Area Functionally Reports into Superintendent FLSA Status Non-Exempt JOB OBJECTIVE The Commercial Interior Painter is a skilled professional responsible for painting various commercial structures, including office buildings, retail establishments, warehouses, and more.
The primary duties of a Commercia; Painter includes preparing surfaces, applying paint, and ensuring that the finished product meets the client's expectations and industry standards.
Painters will apply coats of paint, varnish, stain, enamel, or lacquer to protect interior or exterior surfaces, trimmings, and fixtures of buildings and other structures.
This includes the inspection of surfaces.
REQUIREMENTS EXPERIENCE Must have 2-5 years of experience as a Building & Remodeling Commercial painter.
RESPONSIBILITIES Always follow the rules of safe conduct.
Accurately interpret and apply information from work orders, job orders, and specifications.
Identify, recognize, and demonstrate safe usage of hand tools and power tools appropriate for the job.
Recognize various materials used in the craft and demonstrate a working knowledge of appropriate material handling techniques.
Select and safely use appropriate equipment which may include (but not limited to) manlifts, forklifts, and company trucks.
Demonstrate ability to interpret paint specifications.
Ensure an even, smooth, and consistent finish.
Identify, recognize, and demonstrate safe usage of appropriate personal protective equipment for the craft.
Demonstrate knowledge and skills in various methods of surface preparation as listed: Demonstrate knowledge and skills in various safe and efficient methods of application of protective coatings as listed: Brush/Roller/ Airless Smooth surfaces, using sandpaper, scrapers, brushes, steel wool, and/or sanding machines.
Read specifications or receive instructions from supervisors or clients to determine work requirements.
QUALIFICATIONS AND SKILLS Must have experience in prep, prime, topcoat (brush, roller and spray gun) The employee must be capable of directing the other employees that will be associated with this job to assure that safety, quality, and production are achieved.

This training will require testing and the issuance of "certification" cards by Norrell.

EDUCATION REQUIREMENTS High School Diploma or Equivalent PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS Employee will be required to adhere to large amounts of standing, walking, bending, squatting, sitting, and lifting.
Employee will be required to communicate in person, via telephone, email use of arm/hand steadiness, manual dexterity, finger dexterity, multi limb coordination, oral expression, and comprehension.
Will talk and hear to communicate.
Will use arms and hands to signal, grab, hold, turn, push, and pull objects, materials, controls, and tools.
May be required to pick up, lift, carry and move up to 50lbs.
Will work at heights, climb ladders and stairways, and may occasionally work off platforms/scaffolding using the appropriate fall protection requirements.
Must be able to work in all weather conditions (including heat, rain, cold and wind) while wearing appropriate PPE.
Will be required to wear personal protective equipment (PPE) including but not limited to: hard hat, safety glasses/spoggles, ear plugs, masks/respirators, hi-vis safety vests, leather gloves and leather steel-toed work boots.
