The Commercial Lender I works in conjunction with the Regional CEO and Commercial Lenders to develop business focusing on loans, deposit and Treasury Services.
Responsibilities Identify prospective clients and develop new business relationships with commercial clients.Examine, evaluate & recommend approval of commercial credits.Identify & analyze markets to develop prospects for commercial banking.Actively participate in business development & networking opportunities.Interview customers & prospects to request specified information for credit applications and Treasury Services opportunities.Analyze applicant's financial status, credit, & property evaluation to determine feasibility of granting loan. Work with credit analyst for verification & recommendation.Compile loan package & facilitate negotiation of loan structure with applicant, including fees, loan repayment options, & other credit terms.Present credits to loan committee for approval.Ensure loan agreements are complete & accurate according to policy.Assure timely loan closing & funding activities.Manage client portfolio to include loan exception monitoring and credit quality.Follow and adhere to all Bank policies and regulations.Adhere to all policies and procedures of the Bank including BSA/AML.Any and all duties as requested by management.About You: Bachelor's degree in Finance or related field, or equivalent work experience required.3+ years experience in banking relationship management role or related business lending experience; direct in-person contact preferred.General knowledge of core business products and services including deposit and Treasury Services.Strong understanding of credit products, credit application process, and potential outcomes.Ability to build relationships with clients and internal partners and influence others without direct control.Ability to identify opportunities and issues by asking targeted questions to assess current client needs and goals.Ability to consider and balance client needs and objectives with respect to associated challenges and risks.Ability to determine priorities on a daily basis and maintain a balanced work approach to achieve business objectives.Understanding of general and sound business practices, financial and economic concepts, and how business needs vary by industry/market.Must possess strong written, credit analysis and verbal communication skills with individuals at all levels, internally and externally.Proven track record of consistent loan and deposit production.Working knowledge of Microsoft Word, Excel and Outlook software.We believe that empowering people goes far beyond the workplace.
