The Commercial Loan Officer is a customer focused role serving in a relationship management capacity to represent Farm Credit East with both existing and prospective borrowers and with purchased participation partners. This person actively manages the commercial loan portfolio as part of Capital Markets lending team, serving the largest Farm Credit East customers and purchased participation loans from across the country. This includes business development, credit analysis, and portfolio management. The portfolio will initially be $500 million to $750 million including borrowers within Farm Credit East's Loan Service Area and purchased participations. This is a fast-growing business segment and the position requires up to 50% travel.
The Commercial Loan Officer delivers a personalized experience for Farm Credit East customers and employs a proactive versus reactive approach to exceed the borrower's expectations. This person prioritizes and aligns their approach to customer service based on customer segmentation in lieu of a one-size-fits-all approach.

Duties and Responsibilities: Business Development
Works with assigned marketplace offices to identify, promote, and retain larger and more complex farm & agribusiness loans Establishes loan volume targets for originated and purchased loans Develops relationships with CoBank, ACA's & other banks to identify opportunities to increase the purchased participation loan portfolio Borrower Relationship Management
Engages with creditworthy agribusinesses to develop and identify lending opportunities Establishes and maintains relationships with commercial borrowers to understand their business and related risks Monitors risk level and initiates risk mitigation activities as needed Credit Analysis
Analyzes credit information for complex commercial loans Recommends approval/denial on requests Participates in developing consensus loan decisions Project Management
Identifies, priorities, plans and leads special projects Job Qualifications and Requirements: This position requires a Bachelor's degree in business, agriculture or a related field The candidate will ideally be based in our Enfield, CT office but could potentially be located in another of our marketplace office locations Travel up to 50% Salary range: $100,000-$135,000 commensurate with experience Farm Credit East is an Equal Opportunity Employer.
