Our client is a leading food manufacturer supplying products in own brand to the Major Multiples. They have a clear commercial strategy and have built strong relationships with their customers through energy, category, and commitment to partner relationships. They are looking for a Commercial Manager to enhance and widen these relationships.
Commercial Manager This role will allow the successful candidate to experience a broader involvement than would be experienced in a commercial manager role in a more traditional blue-chip environment. Decision-making is fast-paced, and individuals are expected to take responsibility for broad accountabilities and will be fully integrated with cross-functional working with Production, NPD, Supply Chain, and Technical across the sites.
Above all, we are looking for an individual who is a 'go-getter' with the confidence to have an instant rapport with people, build relationships, and work in a fast-paced environment, and is confident in using their initiative, with a passion for food.
Role Profile Following a full induction to the business, take on responsibility for key accounts end-to-end (supported by the Controller). The candidate will be expected to manage these accounts and develop them to exceed budget. Work closely with the accounts to build strong working relationships.Working with the Category Manager (Kantar data provided by the Cat Manager), you will present together Category and sales analysis of the accounts utilizing the Customers data as well as internal data to the customer.Cover all account management forecasting, administration, customer systems, analyze data, and make recommendations regarding distribution to improve rate of sale. Ensure any price inflation is delivered and recovered to the customer and achieved to maintain budget/business requirements.Analysis of profit and performance trends to make recommendations to drive growth.Initiate and drive projects to deliver sales opportunities, particularly NPD and critical path management.Full account of housekeeping, regular forecasting and KPI reporting, cost changes, launch memos, delists, gap analysis.Key cross-functional interface internally and externally including NPD, Technical, production, procurement, and supply chain.Staying up to date with new and emerging themes/products within your area of responsibility.Store visits to understand the market changes.Work very closely with NPD to deliver launches on time and deliver new innovation for the business to be sold into customers.Candidate Profile Social skills and personable with presence to fit with major retailer commercial environment is paramount.Degree.Ambitious, passionate, and highly focused in terms of their career.Strong analytical skills and commercial acumen.Resilience and evidence of building rapport and relationships.Extremely organized.Delivery of own label NPD launches on time.NAM 2-5+ years but would review (Top 4 preferable).Strong communication skills with a 'can-do' attitude, persistent and determined to achieve.Ambitious and passionate.Strong Excel, PowerPoint, Word capabilities, with the ability to analyze data.Planned and organized, capable of prioritizing workload.Full driving license.Experience of delivering own label and managing critical paths - ideally for Top 4 retailers.Category insight experience.Supply chain experience.Retailer experience ideally in Commercial, Category, or NPD.Epos data analysis, use of retailer systems.Please get in touch for more information about this exciting opportunity or apply today with your CV.
