Commercial Relationship Associate
JOB DESCRIPTION
Reporting to the Senior Vice President, the Commercial Relationship Associate serves as the first point of contact for commercial clients and provides a wide array of general banking and loan process services to these clients.
RESPONSIBILITIES
Understands Bank's products, services, pricing and documentation, and is able to communicate these effectively to clients.
Responsible for providing timely follow-up to clients and is accountable for client satisfaction through ownership of any questions, problems or concerns.
Opens commercial deposit accounts, both business and personal, and performs account maintenance activities.
Understands Treasury Management products and responds to requests from clients, cross-sell services and complete necessary agreements.
Understands the Bank's Credit Policy, including individual Officer Authority and Loan Committee authority.
Completes all ordering and review of necessary due diligence - Illinois Complete Search, Tract Search or Title Insurance, Flood Determination, Proof of Insurance.
Orders and reviews all necessary property appraisals and environmental searches.
Collects and reviews all corporate documents, Articles of Incorporation/Organization, Operating Agreements and By-Laws.
Orders, assembles and verifies loan documents for completeness and accuracy.
Coordinates all aspects of the closing process, ensuring that all terms are met and manages all logistics of final closings.
Ensures that all documents are properly signed, notarized, recorded and delivered, including follow up for any missing documentation to guarantee total compliance.
Processes all loan servicing including loan draws, payments, research, prepares payoff letters and processes payoff wires.
Collects and reviews client financial reports and manages financial and collateral exceptions.
Tracks annual reviews, renewing or maturing loans, lines of credit, and letters of credit and notifies action needed on a monthly basis.
Conduct prospect/industry research and prepare prospect letters.
SKILLS
Familiarity with all federal and state banking regulations pertaining to commercial lending including fair lending laws, HMDA, and the Bank Secrecy Act.
Highly effective oral and written communication skills.
Detail oriented and customer service focused.
Able to balance administrative functions and meet service expectations.
Able to handle confidential information in a professional manner.
Manage prioritization of workflow for maximum efficiency.
Demonstrated team player.
Ability to work independently with strong initiative and the ability to multi-task.
QUALIFICATIONS
Bachelor's degree or equivalent work experience in the banking or title industry preferred
Good analytical and problem-solving skills
Willingness to work in a team environment
Intermediate understanding of Word/ Excel
