Ability to travel as needed What sets you apart: Exceptional communication skills, with the ability to communicate project issues and impacts Creative thinking with the ability to multi-task Keeps abreast of technology trends Effectively handle complex assignments independently or in multiple work groups REPRESENTATIVE DUTIES AND TASKS: Assist design engineers with the selection of PWB materials, layer stack-up and fabrication to meet electrical design and DoD and commercial reliability requirements Work closely with project engineers, customers, QA and Suppliers to ensure compliance to flow down requirements Review new design PWB requirements and validate against supplier process capabilities Develop PWB procurement drawings, design guidelines, fabrication guidelines, trade studies, analyses and other documentation Participate in a Failure Review Board (FRB)/Material Review Board (MRB) teams as a technical expert on PWB design, construction and failure modes Participate in supplier quality and capability audits Participate and/or Support Source Inspection at suppliers Initiate corrective and preventive actions when non-conformances are noted in GDMS products or the processes used to produce GDMS products Apply IPC-A-600, AS9102 and other PWB standards during product development and manufacturing efforts Work closely with Project Leaders, design engineers and other professionals on multiple project teams Support and review cost, schedule and proposal estimates Support occasional travel to meet with customers and suppliers and various GDMS sites Work technical questions from the supplier with design engineering team to ensure no stoppage of work delaying delivery of products. KNOWLEDGE SKILLS AND ABILITIES: Very strong use and understanding of electrical engineering concepts, principles, and theories relative to PWB design, manufacturing, and use. Frequently contributes to the development of new designs, manufacturing methods and material sciences. Very strong understanding of hardware design engineering processes. You'll have substantial influence as a team lead and contributor on the electrical requirements analysis, requirements definition, electrical technical planning, cost analysis, risk analysis and successful execution of programs relative to PWBs. requirements management, functional analysis, performance analysis interface analysis and definition for the design, fabrication at suppliers, integration and verification of electrical performance of the PWB.
