Join now!Job SummaryThe Communication Systems Engineer I researches, designs, develops, tests, and oversees the installation of communication systems at Kennedy Space Center for mission imagery systems (both photo and video imagery). This is a represented staff position with the IBEW Union. Duties/ResponsibilitiesDevelops solutions to routine problems of limited scope. Frequent use and application of electrical, mechanical and computer science engineering standards, principles, theories, concepts, and techniques.Work with customers to develop system requirements.Research and define "Off the Shelf" solutions supporting system development.Work with Manufacturers in configuring products to meet system requirements.Develop material and labor estimates to meet project requirements.Order materials and components that meet system specifications.Follow through with Manufacturers and Suppliers to meet project deadlines.Work with Drafting team members to develop and maintain detailed system drawings.Develop component and system Acceptance Test Procedures, Functional Test Procedures and Operational Instructions.Oversee the execution of test procedures, support day to day and major operations.Provides solutions to a variety of problems of moderate scope and complexity.Work is closely supervised.
