The Mill Institute, inspired by the work of philosopher John Stuart Mill, is leading a movement of K-12 and post-secondary educators to change the way students engage with the most heated issues facing society. We work with instructors and administrators to bring viewpoint diversity and open inquiry into educational settings. We aim to create spaces where students can be curious about anything. The Mill Institute at UATX is hiring a part-time comms and social media coordinator (approx 8 hrs/week) to help us maintain and build our community of educators and education leaders. This position will report to the Operations Manager.
\n Responsibilities include:Developing and creating visual content and marketing copy for lead generation ads and social postsManaging and optimizing ad campaigns and tracking metrics on Meta and LinkedInDesigning and implementing monthly newsletterOwning the Mill Institute's content calendarMaintaining mailing listWordpress website updates, as neededCoordination of content with external contractors, as well as with the University's internal comms teamEnsuring the Mill Institute's brand and communication guidelines are upheld across channelsSupporting other program needs as they arise Job requirements:Min 2 years of experience coordinating social media for an organizationExcellent design, writing, and editing skillsAbility to translate academic content into clear, appealing ads and media contentComfortability with SEO, as well as Google and Meta analyticsFamiliarity with Hubspot The right person will be:A strong, highly organized, multi-tasker who is attentive to detailVery comfortable on a variety of social media platforms, including being in front of the cameraAble to communicate effectively with internal teams and external contractorsAble to both independently develop strategy and ideas and also execute on other people's direction and feedback Able to turn content around quickly and adhere to short-term deadlinesAble to engage with, and hopefully enjoy, self-directed work
\n$30 - $30 an hour
$30/hr for 8 hrs per week. 6 months in total, with possibility to extend depending on ongoing need and fit. \nHow We WorkWe are a small start-up team that operates very quickly.
