Job Description: Pepin County Sheriff's Office is now accepting applications for one full-time female Communication/Corrections Officer. This is a sworn position. The primary job duties include:
The Corrections Officer maintains the security and safety of the Pepin County Jail and its inmates and provides for their needs.The Communications Officer provides central dispatching of all emergency services (i.e., police, fire, ambulance, and human service providers) for the entire county and surrounding area.This job requires the ability to function properly in high-stress situations, follow established procedures, and maintain appropriate records of all actions.
Qualifications include: U.S. CitizenshipMinimum of a high school diploma or G.E.D. (Post high school education is desirable)Completion of LESB Jailer Certification and Time I & II certificationMaintain appropriate 24-hour annual re-certification requirementsValid Wisconsin driver's licenseBasic computer literacyWage: The starting rate for this position is $22.00 per hour, increasing to a four-year level of $27.01.
This position will normally be scheduled in 12-hour shifts and includes a full benefit package including health, life, dental, vision, disability, cancer, critical illness, accident insurances, income continuation insurance, and Protective Status in the Wisconsin Retirement System. Paid time off includes vacation, sick time, and 10 paid holidays.
