Applicants must have a high school diploma or GED Certificate.

The pay starts at $17.00 per hour.
The Communications Dispatchers are responsible for but not limited to: Monitoring the Kansas City, Missouri Police Department radio.Radio dispatching all campus calls for law enforcement and public safety services, answering telephone calls from internal and external parties regarding emergency and non-emergency issues.Monitor CCTV cameras.Monitor access control and alarms systems by dispatching officers to locations.Grant appropriate access to university vendors, suppliers, and contractors.Oversight and distribution of department equipment to oncoming shift Officers Qualifications
Rockhurst Security Personnel carries a Class A Private Security License and are classified as Patrol Agents under Title 17 and Chapter 84 of the Revised Statutes of Missouri.
Rockhurst Communications Dispatchers are unarmed and must qualify for a private, unarmed license through the Kansas City, Missouri Police Department, both upon initial hiring and annually after that.
Minimum qualifications: Qualified candidates must have excellent communication and customer service skills.
Candidates must also be able to multitask and work calmly and effectively through various events.
Basic computer keyboard skills are essential.
Basic knowledge of Excel and Word is strongly preferred.Applicants must have a high school diploma or GED Certificate.

Physical Requirements:
Position requires light lifting (5-20 pounds) two to three times a day, the ability to hear, use the telephone, and perform stationary work at a computer console for prolonged periods.
The incumbent will be required to sit/stand at a designated console for extended periods, type information into various computer systems, and effectively process numerous simultaneous tasks.
This position involves shift work as well as some weekends and holidays.
Law Enforcement, Public Safety, or Security experience is desirable but will train.
On-going professional development training/education available for advancement.
