Position SummaryThe Communications Specialist will contribute to the development of owned content for the Nature Conservancy of Canada (NCC). They will be required to develop content for NCC's desired target audiences, manage the content creation and publishing process for business and operating units across the organization, and monitor content metrics. The Communications Specialist is an expert storyteller and possesses excellent knowledge of content trends.
The Communications Specialist will:Develop engaging, high-quality communications materials and content to support NCC's communications plan objectives, particularly focused on NCC's owned communications channels (magazine, website, annual report, blog, other reports & handouts) and corporate communications (issues notes, letters, speeches).Develop audience-first content plans and associated content to support business unit objectives to elevate NCC's reputation and drive engagement with target audiences and stakeholders.Provide editorial and fact checking services to ensure communications are clear, accurate and engaging.Develop and update key messages on a regular basis to support content plans.Analyze communications activities engagement and regularly report on corporate communications activities and their impact in meeting core objectives.Position RequirementsUniversity degree or college diploma in a related field.3-5 years experience in a similar role, including communications, marketing or graphic design.Excellent editorial and fact checking skills.Proven experience reviewing/evaluating and creating new content.Design aptitude and experience with software, such as Adobe Suite, MS Office, CMS.Demonstrated publications management skills – from conception to execution.Multimedia (video/audio/other) content production skills are considered an asset.How to ApplyNCC is an equal opportunity employer.
