Denver, CO or New York, NY (CAI has a hybrid work schedule of working 2 days in the office and 3 days remote.)
GENERAL STATEMENT OF RESPONSIBILITIES:
The Community-Engaged Evaluation Manager works under the direction of CAI's Vice President of Research and Evaluation and with key project directors and staff to provide day-to-day research and evaluation management and coordination of a portfolio of projects and initiatives at CAI that uses community-driven approaches to addressing social determinants of health and their effects on health disparities. This person will serve primarily as the Evaluation Lead on the Healthy Food for Denver's Kids (HFDK) Initiative. The work will involve the evaluation of 50+ grantees, locally funded across Denver, to understand their successes and challenges, to improve healthy food access and nutrition education for children, youth, and their families living in Denver. CAI will conduct all evaluation activities and provide training and technical assistance on evaluation approaches to support grantee data collection and community engagement approaches to promote programmatic impact and assess meaningful outcomes for Denver, the initiative, grantees, and the communities they serve.
The Community-Engaged Evaluation Manager should have experience in applying a culturally responsive and racial equity lens to the design and implementation of evaluation activities, including participatory research methods and collective impact evaluation approaches, which will be applied to additional projects at CAI.
MAJOR TASKS AND RESPONSIBILITIES (include, but are not limited to):
Work as part of a multidisciplinary team to design evaluation activities using a culturally responsive and racial equity lens, and concepts of Collective Impact and Community-Based Participatory Research (CBPR)
Develop tools to foster the implementation of identified approaches and methods to data collection (e.g., needs assessments, literature reviews, data workbooks, community café facilitator guides, surveys)
Work collaboratively to implement evaluation strategies and manage the data collected from the projects.
Partner with a multi-disciplinary team of professionals, stakeholders, community members, and peers to identify relevant data sources and/or develop simple strategies to collect and report data for monitoring, reporting, and planning purposes.
Research and apply state-of-the-art theories, frameworks, and approaches to evaluating community-led strategies.
Apply expertise in community-led and -driven approaches to evaluate CAI's initiatives in topics related to food systems and access, sexual and reproductive health, and tobacco.
Employ innovative data visualization tools and strategies to communicate research and evaluation findings to diverse audiences, including stakeholders, community members, and peers.
Perform other duties as

necessary/assigned.
Write abstracts and white papers and participate in academic conference presentations to facilitate the dissemination of findings.
Project Specific Responsibilities
Healthy Food for Denver's Kids (HFDK)
Lead all data and evaluation activities for HFDK Initiative to meet funder annual evaluation report to assess impact of the HFDK initiative.
Manage the implementation of all the data collection and analysis for the project including grantee-level reporting, citywide metrics, publicly available secondary data sources, and community-engaged collected data
Support project teamin utilizing datainthedevelopment ofpresentations,training,reports, infographics and/or other communication materials.
Develop, implement, and continually improve data dashboards that summarize key programmatic achievements using real-time data
Co-design and facilitate trainings for grantees on various evaluation topics to support them in their HFDK evaluation activities
Provide evaluation-related training and TA to grantees to build their evaluation capacity and continuous program learning and development
Use the Quickbase App to manage and generate reports on grantee level data
Implement best practice approaches in evaluation to ensure that community members and stakeholders are continuously involved and that the voice of the community is a major driver in understanding how data is collected and receiving information on results and findings
Experience working with and in-depth knowledge of addressing the needs of underrepresented and historically marginalized populations (e.g. Latinx, Indigenous, Black, etc.)

MINIMU

M EDUCATION, EXPERIENCE AND OTHER SKILLS REQUIRED:
Master's degree in health/social sciences, public health, or comparable field preferred.
3 years of pertinent full-time work preferred.
Experience developing evaluation strategies that are culturally responsive and employ a racial equity lens.
Expertise in conducting evaluation or research using community-based and participatory approaches (e.g., Community-based Participatory Research (CBPR), Collective Impact).
Preference for candidates working with evaluating evidence-based/informed interventions
Preference for candidates working in the field of training and capacity building, public health initiatives, food access, STI, or reproductive health
Strong qualitative and quantitative data analysis experience (Excel, MAXQDA, STATA, SPSS etc.)
Experience working in data visualization and mapping (Tableau,PowerBI, ArcGIS etc.)
Strong writingskillsandattention to detail and coordinating multiple tasks.

While performing the Community-Engaged Evaluation Manager's responsibilities, the employee is required to talk and hear. This position requires the employee to be on-site at a CAI office. The employee is often required to sit and work at a desk for prolonged periods of time and use their hands and fingers to handle or feel. The employee is occasionally required to stand, walk, reach with arms and hands, climb or balance, and stoop, kneel, crouch, or crawl. Must be able to lift up to 15 pounds at times. Vision abilities required by this job include close vision.

Compensation The salary range for this position is $80,000 - $90,000. CAI offers a generous benefits package including:
