MEMBER POSITION TITLE: Community Health Program Coordinator
HOST SITE ORGANIZATION: Multicultural Coalition, Inc. 333 First St, Unit D, Menasha, WI 54952
POSITION OVERVIEW: This position will support two new Multicultural Coalition, Inc (MCI) programs. One program is the Bodega, which provides food to families in need. The other program is the Clothing Closet, which provides gently used clothing to families in need.

DESCRIPTION OF DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES: For the Bodega: Receive and unpack food donations: Verify expiration dates, sort and categorize food items. Stock shelves and maintain pantry organization: Rotate stock to ensure older items are used first, keep shelves clean and labeled. Create food packages: Assemble pre-selected grocery bags or boxes based on client needs and dietary restrictions. Register clients and manage intake process: Collect basic information, assess family needs, and conduct wellness survey. Input relevant collected data. Distribute basic needs items: Ensure clients receive their assigned package discreetly and respectfully. Sanitation and safety: Maintain clean and sanitary conditions in the pantry, follow food safety guidelines. Inventory management and ordering: Monitor food levels and place orders for needed items. Fundraising and outreach: Help with in-kind fundraising events, such as leading food drives, or community outreach activities. Administrative tasks as it related to the Bodega, such as data entry, submitting reports, filing, photocopying, answering phones to answer questions. Translation and interpretation: Assist clients who speak limited English. Assist with social media tasks: take pictures, take noteworthy quotes, and submit content suggestions. For the Clothing Closet: Receive and sort donated clothing: Assess clothing for condition, suitability for distribution, and categorize by type (men's, women's, children's, etc.). Identify and remove damaged or soiled items: Maintain quality standards for clothing offered to clients. Label and organize clothing: Use a consistent system for easy identification and retrieval by size, type, and season. Laundry and mending: Wash and repair gently used clothing (if needed). Maintain inventory lists: Track incoming and outgoing clothing to ensure adequate stock. Help clients navigate the clothing closet: Guide them to find suitable clothing based on their needs and preferences. Keep the clothing closet clean and organized: Fold and neatly arrange clothing on shelves and racks. Dust and sanitize surfaces regularly: Maintain a hygienic environment. Dispose of unusable clothing and textiles Fundraising and outreach: Help with in-kind fundraising events, such as clothing drives, or community outreach activities. Administrative tasks as it relates to the Clothing Closet, such as data entry, submitting reports, filing, photocopying, answering phones to answer questions. Provide feedback and suggestions for improvement: Share ideas to enhance the clothing closet's services and operations. Attend volunteer training sessions: Learn about the organization's mission, client needs, and best practices for clothing closet operations. Assist with social media tasks: stage pictures, take noteworthy quotes, and submit content suggestions. Translation and interpretation: Assist clients who speak limited English. For the Be Well Fox Valley AmeriCorps Program (in addition to the duties and responsibilities listed above): Attend and participate in program trainings on a variety of topics, including program orientation all-member team training and networking opportunities, Public Health AmeriCorps CDC Train virtual training series, community service projects, etc. These trainings occur through a combination virtual and in-person. Complete AmeriCorps paperwork, such as monthly reports, feedback surveys, etc. QUALIFICATIONS/SKILLS/EDUCATION/EXPERIENCE: Strong client facing communication skills Enjoy organizing Passion and Enthusiasm: Share your passion for service, inspiring others to get involved and benefit from the project. Be 18 years or older at the beginning of their service Hold a high school diploma or equivalent U.S Citizen, U.S National, or Lawful permanent resident alien of the U.S. Pass a criminal history background check QUALIFICATIONS/SKILLS/EDUCATION/EXPERIENCE: Member Term of Service: The Member's service term will start on 6/3/2024 and end on 8/31/2024.There's flexibility with the position start date, however the position must start between 6/3/2024-6/10/2024. Time Requirements: The member is expected to serve 300 hours, which averages 24-28 hours/week during the service term period. Members will receive a gross living allowance while serving, which is paid on the 15th and last day of each month. The gross living allowance amount will be $676.47 per pay period (the amount listed is before tax deductions). Please note, there will not be an additional hourly wage or salary. Segal Education Award upon successful completion of hourly requirement described in Time Requirements: The Education Award amount for this position is $1,459.26. Please note, this education award is an electronic transfer to either your educational institution, federal loan provider, etc. Members will not receive the education award via direct payment (such as check, cash, etc.). Forbearance on qualified student loans while serving and interest accrual payments.
