Promotes the organization by creating a strong media and community presence.In this role, the Outreach Coordinator cultivates, facilitates and represents NAMI Rockland at meetings, health fairs, forums and fundraising events.
He/she develops collaborative relationships with other community based organizations to advance public awareness/ understanding of mental health issues and is responsible for training and utilizing volunteers for a wide variety of office procedures that support NR's mission in the community.Conversely, the Outreach Coordinator markets NAMI Rockland's scheduled activities/programs in print, broadcast and social media.
Coordinate, organize, and communicate regularly with our constituents Maintain website and social media communications.
Drafts press releases, newsletters and fliers to promote monthly classes and support groups.
Aids in promoting, expanding, and improving volunteer-member relationships Recruits volunteers for special events, projects, local events, advocacy, and other program-related activities including participants for the Family to Family and Basics courses and volunteers to work our HelpLine.
Organizes and manages monthly Educational Forum.
Builds and maintains business partnerships/relationships for donations and event sponsorships Represents agency at local meetings, schedule presentations with schools and civic groups.
Assists in the coordination of Special Events and donor programs.
Manages contact databases and lists, including for membership and supporters; provides accurate records and documentation to facilitate reports, as requested by Executive Director and/or Program Director.
Under the oversight of the ED develops grant opportunities and prepares grant proposals.
Answers office phone and manages the organization's mail; provides clerical/ computer/ telephone support for board meetings, education meetings, fund raisers and other projects, as assigned.
Maintains inventory of office supplies, educational brochures, and hospitality supplies.
Anticipates needs and orders supplies for mailings, presentations, fairs, classes and education meetings, as noted or requested by other staff.
Performs other tasks as requested or assigned.
Minimum Salary: 22.50 Maximum Salary: 25 Salary Unit: Hourly
