Building upon a balanced and globally competitive business portfolio, LG Chem manufactures a wide range of products from high-value added petrochemicals to renewable plastics, specializing in cutting-edge electronic and battery materials such as cathodes, as well as drugs and vaccines to deliver differentiated solutions for its customers.Beyond a chemical company, LG Chem will become a leading science-oriented corporation that creates value for our customers and is committed to reaching carbon-neutral growth by 2030 and net-zero emissions by 2050 by managing the impacts of climate change and making positive contributions to society through renewable energy and responsible supply chains.We are actively searching for an individual to develop, oversee and manage ongoing compliance efforts for our business in the Americas region.  This role reports directly to the Chief Legal Counsel, Americas, and will work closely with the Americas Legal Team, along with Americas and LG Chem global leadership to support compliance initiatives, help to develop and conform policies and procedures to best practices, and conduct routine inspections of compliance systems and controls. Essential Functions:Supports compliance for all subsidiaries and business operations in the Americas regionPartners closely on all aspects of the business and supports all departments and subsidiaries in tracking and monitoring key risks and internal controlsOversees internal compliance inspectionsPartners with EHS teams at local subsidiaries to help serve as control tower for compliance function and for EHS / safety functionBuilds and maintains working knowledge of laws, regulations and industry standards applicable to the company's products and business linesPerforms other incidental and related duties as required and assignedResponsibilities:Coordinates and oversees compliance function for Americas region, including guiding compliance efforts and reporting to Compliance CommitteeDevelops work plans and risk assessments and identifies potential areas of compliance vulnerabilities and riskSupports Americas Legal Team in responding to legal inquiries, third party, governmental and internal audits and investigationsSupports broader LG Chem compliance initiatives to expand to Americas regionServes as corporate representative for certain litigation mattersEnhance the regional anti-corruption and anti-bribery compliance programs, including revising policies and procedures as necessaryDevelops and helps manage internal controls and reporting relating to regular compliance inspectionsWorks together with legal and business units to identify, recommend and improve operational efficiencies and compliance systems and document control systemsPerforms periodic reporting on compliance and operational issuesDevelops strong knowledge and understanding of company policies, procedures and practices and works to improve, develop and conform policies, procedures and practices to best practicesParticipate and assist Americas Legal Team, and occasionally Global Legal Affairs Team and Global Compliance Team, on any projects and other matters as are assigned or neededPartner with EHS teams to support TSCA compliance and lead reporting obligationsSupport the development of educational and training programs on compliance for employees, managers and senior leadersAnswering inquiries and providing support to internal stakeholders regarding company policies, procedures and practicesUpdating key internal stakeholders on regulatory changesRequirements:Bachelor or advance degree; J.D. preferred5+years of experience in compliance function with demonstrated success in developing and leading programsExperience working in a manufacturing organization and subject matter expertise in petrochemical industry, including TSCA, preferredStrong written and verbal communication skills; strong attention to detail and highly organizedExcellent time management skills - able to handle multiple projectsExperience creating, monitoring, and enhancing policies, procedures, and controls to evaluate the effectiveness of a compliance programAbility to communicate regulatory and other compliance issues to senior management and effectively frame issues to drive strategic thinking and resolutionFamiliarity with OSHA regulations and knowledge of cGMP principals a plusConsistently takes initiative to not only spot risks, but to identify and collaborate with key stakeholders, propose solutions, drive change and facilitate positive outcomesAll qualified applicants will receive consideration for employment without regard to race, color, religion, sex, age, gender, sexual orientation, gender identity, national origin, disability, status as a protected veteran, or any characteristic protected by applicable federal, state, or local law.
