About The Division Join the Budget Internal Accounting team as an Accountant!
Work involves the preparation of agency vouchers and reports and maintaining procedures and controls.
Specializes in auditing, investigating, and analyzing vendor-related reimbursements.
8 a.m. to 5 p.m., 40-hour work week, Monday through Friday.
May occasionally work evenings, weekends, or holiday.
Hours may change based on business needs.
Qualifications: Minimum Qualifications Graduation from an accredited college or university with a bachelors degree.
Five years of full-time experience in government accounting or closely related in a complex office environment.
Preferred Qualifications Graduation from an accredited college or university with a bachelors degree in Accounting, Business, Finance or Public Administration.
Substitutions One additional year of experience performing government accounting work may substitute for thirty semester hours of educational requirement with a maximum substitution of 120 semester hours (four years).
In this role you will: Audits, investigates, and analyzes all requisitions and/or purchase orders, receiving reports and invoices to ensure compliance with statewide payment guidelines and agency policies.
Maintains Accounts Payable Section files in an orderly manner in compliance with the states records retention guidelines.
Prepares records for storage at the State Library.
Enters voucher accounting details into the agency's internal accounting system.
Monitors documents in the Uniform Statewide Accounting System to ensure timely processing.
Prepares special reports and projects as needed.
Performs all other related duties as assigned.
