Fusion Energy Engineering Intern Program: We are looking for talented physics interns to join our stellar team for the summer or during the school year!
\n Program Details:Summer 12-16 week internship program and/or flexible school year internshipFor school year internships, expected time dedication is flexible with an hourly rate and tailored to your academic schedule Positions: Computational physicist projectsDivertor modeling. Involves modeling of heat flux on plasma facing materials using state of the art computer codes.Equilibrium optimization. Optimizing stellarator equilibria using state of the art optimization codes.Computational plasma physicist projectsFast particle confinement. Studying the confinement of fusion born fast particles in Eos and Helios stellarators.Plasma Simulation. Simulating plasma confinement and transport using gyro-kinetic codes. The ideal candidate will have most, if not all, of these requirements:Enrolled in a STEM undergraduate or graduate program (physics, mechanical engineering, aerospace engineering, materials science, electrical engineering, etc.)Interest in clean and sustainable energy to combat climate changeHands-on or computational experience through academic research, club projects, hackathons, or industry internshipsHighly self-motivated, independent, and driven to solve problemsAuthorized to work in the USWillingness to learn new things!
