Computer and Information Systems ManagerCenter for Applied Rationality (CFAR) currently has a job opening for a Computer and Information Systems Manager in Berkeley, CA. Duties include:
Overseeing the design, development, and maintenance of a scalable machine learning pipeline tailored for automated image generation, ensuring high performance and reliability.Coordinating with cross-functional teams (including data scientists, software developers, and UI/UX designers) to integrate the ML pipeline with the website's frontend, particularly focusing on React-based applications.Developing new features and modifying existing software in a full-stack development environment to facilitate better communication between researchers; includes, e.g., building data processing pipelines, building and maintaining public application program interface (API), and developing presentational components of the software.Leading the hiring process for new team members with expertise in machine learning, software development (with a focus on React), and other relevant areas.Reviewing created software, features, and other changes prior to deployment.Engaging with the scientific community by reviewing research in Formal Logic, Lambda Calculus, Knowledge Representation, and Intelligent Systems to ensure our platform supports key contributions effectively, fostering impactful collaboration, and actively seeking feedback from the researchers in these fields.Must be authorized to accept permanent employment in the US.
