At VCI Construction, as a Construction Claims Administrator, you'll be the first point of contact for all general liability, auto liability, general property damage and workers compensation claims for the company.
VCI is a specialty utility construction contractor specializing in the construction of buried and overhead fiber optic broadband networks across the southwestern US.
Our daily construction tasks begin with preparing vehicles and equipment to drive to/from job sites in all types of vehicles from small passenger cars to full-sized semi's hauling large loads and machinery.
Our construction work includes excavation of streets and major roadways and work above ground on telephone poles, work on private property and public roads and lane closures to perform our work safely.
The claims you will be responsible to properly intake, document, analyze and manage include damages to other utilities such as gas lines, phone and cable TV lines, power lines, water lines, sewers, along with auto accidents, general property damage, employee injuries and other claims as they arise.
Case management responsibilities include handling claims in close cooperation with the Corporate, Insurance and Legal Departments.
The Construction Claims Administrator also provides risk management services in collaboration with the Safety Director, Claims Manager, Executive Staff, Construction Managers, and provides support and regional level staff.

Document and monitor all high-exposure and complex files with minimal Managerial guidance and oversight, but immediately engaging senior leadership as issues may dictate.
Answer and initiate correspondence and provide customer service as required.
First point of contact in handling and reporting all claims.
Coordinates and assists carriers in conducting investigations for compensability and overall management of claims.
Ensures archival and retention of all appropriate documentation supporting cases.
Establishes and maintains rapport with claimants, adjusters, internal and external customers and other involved parties in the claims process.
Reviews demands and provides requested information to management and insurance carriers on a timely basis.
Ensures the continued settlement of claims in alignment with industry best practices and adherence to all to all state and federal regulation.
Creates and analyzes trend and financial data relative to claims for leadership and executive teams.
Reviews and approves complaint responses, pleadings, discovery requests, discovery responses, motions, settlement agreements and other relative data.
Coordinates, communicates and distributes litigation information to management.
Ensures all field investigation documents have been timely collected and archived.
May attend Small Claims Court or other legal proceedings.
What you'll need To be 18 years of age or older Authorization to work in the United States for this company Previous experience with construction claims management or related experience in a corporate insurance or legal department, law firm, or insurance company with experience in liability and worker's compensation claims, ranging from minor property damage claims to serious injuries.
Ability to process heavy volumes of complex written and electronic material; analyze situations and establish priorities.
Strong analytical and problem-solving abilities, with attention to detail and accuracy in record keeping.
Ability to learn quickly, multi-task, and retain information specific to the business.
Excellent computer skills, including proficiency with Google Suite and Microsoft Office.
3-5 years of experience with construction claims Comfortable coordinating and leading Online/Zoom Meetings Must be able to pass background and drug screen Demonstrates a strong capacity to quickly adapt by learning new skills and unlearning outdated ones Additional qualifications (if applicable) Supervisory experience preferred College Degree preferred, but not required Ability to communicate in Spanish preferred, but not required Salary Range $66,560 - $75,000 /yr Why work with us
