Job Description The electrical commercial project manager will manage, direct, and coordinate all aspects of the project life cycle for multiple, simultaneous projects.
The successful candidate will be an enthusiastic, self-driven team player responsible for the coordination of all project requirements, including but not limited to scope, schedule, procurement, budget, client relations, project management, and contract administration.
The construction project manager will have experience in establishing and maintaining professional relationships with clients, subcontractors, and other project stakeholders.
Location: Northern VA; outside DC.
Primary Responsibilities Accountable for project execution and successful completion.Act as the primary contact with the client in delivery of the project.Participate in transitional meetings with estimating and business development.Review plans and specifications to gain a comprehensive understanding of the project.Develop and maintain a detailed work breakdown structure integrated and consistent with the project schedule.Coordinate and interface with all project team members while promoting and maintaining open communication.Collaborate with supporting departments to define and manage deliverables.Organize all project documents and drawings using designated software.Accurately forecast project costs, expenses, and resource utilization.Manage and direct subcontractors and oversee material procurement.Manage and generate day-to-day administrative items such as change directives, RFIs, submittals, contracts, change order requests, prime contract change orders, subcontractor change orders, etc.Lead periodic project meetings both internally and with the customer, ensuring all deliverables are achieved.Implement lessons learned and strive for continuous improvement while embracing technology enhancements.Perform project close-out and cost reconciliation.Perform Change Order Estimating (AccuBid Change Order Pro), Change Order Negotiating, and maintain accurate tracking of all change order activities.Manage Cash Flow Forecasting and Cash Flow Management to ensure project financial health.Generate and review Monthly Financial Reporting to ensure project performance aligns with established goals.Knowledge & Skills Strong knowledge of electrical commercial and Data Center Electrical construction.Experience processing RFIs, Submittals, take-offs, and reading drawings is required.Demonstrated knowledge of project management methodologies is essential.Self-motivated, proactive, and a quick learner who thrives in a dynamic, fast-paced work environment.High level of integrity with demonstrated critical thinking, attention to detail, and excellent interpersonal skills.Excellent verbal and written communication, organization, planning, and problem-solving skills.Ability to effectively present information and respond to questions.Proficiency in Microsoft Office products is required.Familiarity with scheduling software is desirable.Knowledge of AccuBid Change Order Pro and financial management practices in construction is a plus.Experience/Education Minimum of 5 years in the electrical construction industry or related experience.Experience as a Project Manager in electrical contracting is required.Experience in understanding electrical blueprints, electrical diagrams, specifications, proposals, and contractual documentation is required.AAP/EEO Statement
