The business is focused on designing and constructing ground-mounted Solar Photovoltaic (PV) facilities that connect to the distribution grid ( This position reports directly to the Vice President, Construction and works closely with other key staff including project management, project engineering, quality, EHS, clients, and subcontractors.  RESPONSIBILITIES OF THE POSITION:
\n Jobsite OwnershipPoint of Contact for all site mattersEstablishes a culture and expectation of compliance with respect to Site Specific Safety Plan, OSHA regulations, contract commitments, all permits, laws, and codesHolds all subcontractors accountable to meet contractual commitments and deliver to Sun Tribe's expectations including safety, environment, quality, housekeeping, and schedule, elevating repeated noncomplianceDrives forward progress by controlling the work and holding subcontractors accountable for their commitmentsCultivates a site culture that is respectful, compliant, safe, and productiveCoordinates delivery and removal of site infrastructure Manages dynamic placement of people, vehicles, materials, equipment, and infrastructurePosts and maintains all required signage, field documents, and permitsPreserves Sun Tribe's rights and interests during construction Ensures all personnel receive site safety orientationLeverages the workflows identified within the Project Execution Plan to guide construction workDocuments and explains plan variance, seeks to reduceOther duties as assigned to support project success Workforce ManagementOrganizes, and optimizes Coordination MeetingLeads daily All Field Personnel Plan of the Day meetingActively manages stabilization, site maintenance, dust control, and environmental remediation strategies Manages temporary labor resources as necessaryDispatches and manages AHJ inspectors, surveyor, geotechnical engineers, and other 3rd party special inspection work as requiredSchedules and coordinates presence for quality hold pointsRoutinely focuses on open observations with subcontractor management to drive all open observations to closure: safety, quality, environmentalCoordinates mobilization and demobilization of all heavy equipmentMaintains site safety through active monitoring and management of onsite safety personnel and servicesCoordinates execution of punch list work Active Monitoring, Documentation, and ReportingGenerates factual Daily Logs in Procore including the noting of delays and regulatory visitorsGathers daily subcontractor generated reports and documentation (JHAs, production reports, work permits, etc)Produces daily photos of site conditions and activity, with a minimum of 10 photos per or EPCA requirements (whichever is greater)Performs daily site walks to document EHS attributes and post observations to ProcoreUpdates and distributes construction progress reports, utilizing standard templates Verifies subcontractor work as part of Payment Application approvalGathers, inputs, compile, optimize, and distributes 3-Week Look Aheads (3WLA) to project team members (including subcontractors)Gathers, organizes, and maintains up-to-date field redlinesDiligently captures data with regards to open Sun Tribe to Owner change orders Assembles and archives all required field-based documentation and paperwork (BOL'S, passed inspections, SWPPP binder, QA/QC documentation, subcontractor reports etc.) Planning and PreperationThoroughly reviews project documents, specifications, drawings, and standard work instructions to gain a full understanding of the workLeads premobilization major subcontractor readiness meetings: scope and drawings with major subcontractorsDevelops and demonstrates understanding of Prime EPC notice requirements for changes, Force Majeure, and recoveryDevelops and demonstrates understanding of major Subcontract language with respect to Scope, Default, Recovery, etc (as defined)Receives and stays current with required corporate-level safety training and project onboarding preparation Construction Issue ResolutionLeads construction troubleshooting efforts and elevate issues as appropriate before they become problemsManages subcontractor field activity to close observationsIssues RFIs to engineering as needed to clarify issues prior to encountering them in the field Material ManagementMaintains inventory of Sun Tribe Equipment onsite, including construction sparesManages the unloading, receipt, and material receiving inspection of Sun Tribe and Owner Provided EquipmentPerforms QC checks pursuant to the EPCA and or PO terms for Sun Tribe procured equipment and Owner Provided Equipment Completes Material transfer forms to subcontractors to minimize ST EPC riskVerifies subcontractor material in advance of needOther duties as assigned to support the overall success of the organization BASIC QUALIFICATIONS REQUIREDHigh School Diploma or GED At least two (2) years experience in Utility Solar PV construction, commercial electrical contracting, civil work, or general contracting  SKILLS & EXPERIENCE PREFERREDMaster or Journeyman Electrical License Bachelor's Degree in construction management or related field Responsible Land Disturber experienceVA DEQ erosion and sediment control inspector experienceOSHA 30 Understanding of mechanical, electrical, structural, and civil engineering drawings Strong computer skills (MS Outlook, MS Excel, MS Word, Slack, Procore) Ability to work well with others in a construction environmentProven experience directing sub-contractors and or tradespeopleHonest, reliable, self-aware, and conscientiousStrong interpersonal communication skills, both verbal and writtenStrong planning, organization, all areas of jobsite in all types of weather; this may include walking, climbing, reaching, bending, crawling, or stretchingMust be able to lift up to 40 pounds at a timeRequires travel to worksites
