Harmon is looking for summer interns to work in our various Harmon locations.
The assignment will run approximately from May thru August, based on the students semester end and start dates.
The duties listed below are ones that are typically performed either at the office or the jobsite.
Qualified candidates will be strong problem solvers, have great organizational and communication skills, and have a passion for the architectural construction industry.
Job Description:
Maintain subcontractor files, job folders, project schedule updates Develop and manage correspondence with trades and material suppliers, design firm and owner representatives Review shop drawings, transmittals, bulletins, addendum notifications, purchase orders, and change orders Monitor construction schedules, and update critical path schedule with actual construction progress Process progress payments, change orders Develop punch lists Attend team, progress and scheduling meetings Develop and follow through on progress meeting notes Log paperwork Assist with construction inspections Review blueprints Verify completion of municipality inspections and approvals Track options and change orders Perform material take-offs Order materials and maintain material inventory, manage material tracking and controls Review job cost reports Assist with project planning and scheduling Participate in project team communications
Job Requirements:
Strong understanding of the principles of construction management Excellent planning and scheduling skills Construction technology and software skills Familiarity with construction documents and contracts Familiarity with engineering and architectural drawings and specifications Ability to write routine reports and correspondence.
Good communication, customer service, decision making, and problem-solving skills.
Coursework in Construction Management, Civil Engineering, Construction Engineering, Business, or related field/degree GPA 3.0+ preferred
