Procon Consulting is seeking a Construction Project Manager for a long-term opportunity in the Miami, FL area on a Civil Engineering Unit project. The ideal candidate will be responsible for managing complex projects varying in size. This role requires 5 years of experience in construction management on projects for new construction, mechanical systems, interior renovations, upgrades, or new fit-outs.
Qualifications & SkillsMinimum of a bachelor's degree in Architecture/Engineering/Construction Management or registration as a professional engineer in a state, District of Columbia, Guam, or Puerto Rico.Licensed Professional Engineer or other industry-standard professional licensure related to the position highly desirable.Minimum of five years' experience as a field engineer, project manager, or managing multiple construction contracts involving multiple disciplines/trades. Proficiency in Microsoft Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Microsoft Office, computer-aided design (CAD), and database materials and programs is necessary.Demonstrate mastery of construction project management concepts, principles, and practices. This includes managing project schedules, construction progress, and contract completion dates; assisting with the development of contract modifications and associated documents; being an effective communicator; understanding risks; developing strategies; reviewing equipment and material submittals, progress charts, quality control, safety plans, and various work plans; and managing multi-discipline projects related to real property facilities.Willingness to complete required training courses within 120 days of employment, including Construction Quality Management for Contractors training, 30-Hour OSHA Certification, Construction Industry 8-hour Confined Spaces Entry Certification, 40-Hour Contracting Officer Representative (COR) certification training, and Professional Construction Manager Course (PCM).Responsibilities & DutiesProvide construction project management services for projects on the Advanced Acquisition Plan and other inserted projects.Ensure construction compliance with plans, specifications, and environmental requirements.Conduct on-site visits, work with Superintendents/Contractor's Project Managers, and provide written reports.Monitor job-site safety, identify design/construction problems, process contractor Requests For Information, and Design Clarification Requests.Review contractor submittals, maintain field records, contract plans, specifications, and as-built drawings.Coordinate utility interruptions, perform pre-construction plan reviews, and ensure compliance with environmental protection requirements.Observe on-site samplings and tests, keep COR informed of difficulties, manage government furnished property, evaluate proposals, and review payment requests/invoices.
