Under direct supervision, performs Construction Quality Control job functions as assigned by management. Typical job responsibilities assist and support management in ensuring that all site Construction Quality Control activities are conducted in a manner that is safe, cost effective and fully compliant with VNSFS procedures and all contractual, statutory, and regulatory requirements. The specific work assignment may include duties or activities that assist and support management in one or more of the following functional areas, in addition to other duties as assigned:
Essential Functions:
• Perform receipt inspection of containers and package components.
• Responsible for initial preparation of quality assurance documents, procedures and assisting all levels of division or project personnel in quality related matters.
• May perform surveillances and inspections in accordance with the applicable site or department procedure. Provide the results of these assessments to line management.
• May inspect material and equipment for compliance with purchase order specification and/or applicable quality requirements.
• Assists in the preparation of project audit schedules, discipline activity plans for the QA function, and audit reports (internal and external), noting nonconformance and verifying effective corrective action.
• Assists project management in developing an orientation program to ensure project teams are familiar with the requirements of the Project Quality Plan
• Acts as a quality program assessor and may follow up on assessment findings and corrective actions.
• Responsible for initial preparation of quality assurance documents, procedures, and assisting all levels of division or project personnel in contractor assurance related matters.
• May perform surveillances, inspections, and assessments in accordance with the applicable site or department procedure. Provide the results of these assessments to line management.
• Assists in the maintenance of project QA records for all phases of the project
• Knowledge is obtained on a continuing developmental level.
• Provides assigned administrative or functional support to the management team.
• Performs duties moderately complex in nature.
Accountabilities:
• Some flexibility in hours is allowed, but the employee must be available during their "core" work hours. Overtime may be required as job demands.
Work Environment:
• This job operates at a 50/50 split between a professional office environment and outdoor environmental restoration atmosphere (outdated and/or abandoned facilities). Potential exposure to equipment movement hazards, dangerous chemicals/solvents, or hazardous and radioactive materials if proper safety procedures are not followed.

Physical Demands:
• While performing the duties of this job, the employee is occasionally required to stand; walk; sit; use hands to finger, handle, or feel objects, tools or controls; reach with hands and arms; climb stairs; balance; stoop, kneel, crouch or crawl; talk or hear; taste or smell. The employee must occasionally lift and/or move up to 25 pounds. Specific vision abilities required by the job include close vision, distance vision, color vision, peripheral vision, depth perception, and the ability to adjust focus.
Education & Certifications:
• A college degree from an accredited school in engineering, construction management, geology, chemistry or related field.
• Must be able to pass Radiation Worker Training (Radiological Worker 1 or 2) and 40-hour HAZWOPER training and up to date 8-Hour HAZWOPER Refresher training.

Experience & Requirements:
• A minimum seven years of experience in the development and/or implementation of QA programs addressing requirements commensurate with ANSI/ASME NQA-1, 10 CFR Part 50 Appendix B, or similar International Organization for Standardization (ISO) standards, preferably as they apply to hazardous, toxic, and radioactive waste (HTRW) cleanup and facility demolition or deconstruction.
• A minimum of nine semester hours, 12 continuing education units (or a combination thereof) in an area relevant to HTRW remediation.
• Working knowledge of applicable federal, state, and local laws, regulations, and
guidance.
• Working knowledge of the Resident Management System (RMS)/Quality Control System (QCS).
• Completion of the "Construction Quality Management for Contractors" course.
• Pre-Employment Physical (office or field work)
• Drug Screen
• The ability to obtain/maintain a security clearance.
• Background Check
• Any site training That is required.
