Job Title: Construction Safety Senior Specialist
Department: Environmental Health & Safety Team
Shift: Core Business hours are Monday-Friday, 8am-5pm
Direct Report: EHS Team Manager
Type: Full-time; Exempt
We are looking for a Construction Safety Senior Specialist to coordinate, support, and actively participate in all matters related to Construction Safety for the Tennessee plant complex. This position is responsible for maintaining a safe and efficient construction site, prevent accidents and ensure that workers and the job site are in compliance with all relevant internal and external health and safety regulations.
You should be well-versed in all construction methodologies and procedures and able to coordinate a team of professionals of different disciplines to achieve the best results. An analytical mind and great organizational skills are also required.
Develop and implement safety protocols, procedures, and policies to enable safe work executionConduct routine safety inspections for workers and general conditions on the job siteProvide initial and periodic training on safe work expectations, PPE expectations, emergency response, etc.Oversee the implementation of the site's near miss/potential hazard/incident reporting systemInvestigate injuries, accidents, and unsafe working conditionsConduct risk assessments to gather information on safety related mattersProvide leadership and direction during Emergency Response situationsCommunicate with Project Management, Site Management, and Vendors to establish safe work expectationsWrite and submit periodic safety reports summarizing site activities and eventsManage all documentation and record keeping associated with job site health and safetyParticipate in weekly project meetings onsite or online with global teamPartner with site EHS team to ensure incident reporting and documentation in line with site standardsOversee the utilization of the site's contractor pre-requisite system to ensure all contractors onsite have necessary training and documentation prior to arriving onsiteUtilize machine commissioning checklist to oversee the safe installation and commissioning of machineryEnsure safe operability of machines being installed during the construction phasePerform other duties as required Education:
(Required) Bachelor's degree(Preferred) Occupational Safety and Health or Construction Management Experience:
(Required) 5+ years of relevant experience, previous experience in Safety Management in Construction Physical Demands:
Must be able to frequently move about the manufacturing plant campus, general office environments, production areas, and occasionally ascend/descend stairsMust be able to remain in a stationary position 50% of the timeMust be able to operate a computer and other office productivity machineryMust be able to position self to file documents including the top and bottom drawers of file cabinetsMust be able to occasionally move office equipment and supplies weighing up to 25 pounds Benefits:
