Intro / Job Brief The role of a Technical Analyst is to assist Technical Consultants and Technical Experts in systematically creating and presenting the fastest and most cost-effective solutions to building problems.
The right candidate for this position will demonstrate: Integrity, professionalism, and the drive to do quality work Excellent communication skills, both verbal and written Aptitude in understanding, summarizing, and explaining complex construction issues Desire to learn and grow into the role of Technical Consultant Responsibilities Specific responsibilities will include but are not limited to the following: Building Inspection and Property Condition Assessment Attend site investigations to inspect structures and conditions.
Rigorously document with photographs, notes, diagrams and checklists.
Prepare inspection summary narratives.
Document Analysis Review, analyze, summarize, and demonstrate understanding of: Construction documents (proposals, architectural drawings, contracts / subcontracts, schedules, change orders, daily logs, etc.)
Legal documents (summons, complaints, motions, demands, depositions, expert reports, etc.)
Conduct research and gather data on building codes, standards of care, construction best practices, etc.
Utilize PFCS systems to organize analysis in a clear, concise, and verifiable manner.
Cost Estimating / Cost Analysis Prepare scopes of work and cost estimates.
Prepare cost analyses and / or cost comparisons.
Prepare requests for proposal as required.
Preparation of Technical Reports Present site observations, document analysis, and cost estimates to Technical Consultants and Technical Experts.
Collaborate with Project Coordinators to assist in preparation of reports that adhere to PFCS standards.
Billing Track time billed to clients on each and every project.
Maintain billable hour targets, monthly goals.
Professional Development Collaborate with management to set quarterly professional development goals aligned with departmental and company objectives.
Actively pursue these goals within the designated time frame, ensuring acquired skills contribute to achieving company targets.
Qualifications 5 years of construction experience, or a combination of education and field experience.
Excellent organization, planning, and communication (written and verbal) skills.
Ability to think critically, solve problems, and communicate solutions by way of actionable information and recommendations.
Ability to perform the physical requirements needed to conduct onsite inspections.
Intermediate computer skills, including some proficiency in MS Word/Excel/Outlook, Adobe Acrobat, Email, and Internet Research Tools.
Proficiency in reading blueprints and architectural drawings is preferred.
Knowledge of Building Sciences is preferred.
Possession or willingness to obtain architectural or engineering registration, contractor license(s),and/or inspection certification(s) is preferred.
