Description & Requirements At Forvis Mazars, we view state taxes as an opportunity to save.
In this position, you will look for opportunities for savings in the area of state and local taxes (SALT).
Our SALT team has extensive training in tax accounting, tax law, compliance, audits, and economic development benefits, and experience with the tax laws in many states.
Our SALT solutions apply to sales and use taxes, income, and franchise taxes, property taxes, credits and incentives, and many more thorough understandings of multi-state sales & use taxes.

How you will contribute: Identifying optimal filing optionsAnalyzing and review apportionment informationSupervising client engagementsPlanning and research tax issuesPreparing technical memorandumsProviding audit assistanceAssisting with state income tax complianceDelivering Forvis Mazars' commitment to unmatched client experience through timely and responsive communication with internal and external clientsWe are looking for people who have Forward Vision and: Effective time managementStrong oral and written communication skillsAbility to work well with a team as well as independentlyProblem-solving attitudeWillingness to take initiativeClose attention to detailAbility to work under pressure and against deadlinesKnowledge of multi-state income and franchise taxesKnowledge of nexus and revenue sourcing issuesHigh-level analytical and reasoning techniquesMinimum Qualifications: Bachelor's or master's degree in accounting or financeProficiency with Microsoft Office SuitePreferred Qualifications: Eligible to sit for the CPA exam and/or pursuing a J.D., or L.L.M designationGPA of 3.0 or higher (in major and overall)Applicants for positions with Forvis Mazars must be legally authorized to work in the United States.

Visa sponsorship is not available for this position. Colorado's Equal Pay for Equal Work Act (SB 19-085) Pursuant to Colorado's Equal Pay for Equal Work Act, the salary range displayed is for the Colorado market.
The salary for this role will be based on the experience, education, and skill set of the individual for the position.
Total compensation and benefits consist of salary, group health plan benefits, 401(K), profit-sharing contributions, flexible time off, and parental leave.
FORVIS reserves the right to make changes to the salary range based on business needs.
