Consumer Packaged Goods (CPG) Sales Analyst Location Hybrid work in Reading, PA : Come join our family! **This is an on-site position. Relocation assistance not provided** The CPG Sales Analyst will support The Sales Team using tools, reports and key processes to assist with achievement of business objectives for the Pet Food Business. They will also provide ad hoc analytical resources to the SVP & VP of Sales & Marketing in a high-quality presentation format.
In this role, you will: Analyze customer data & shipment trends for presentations, business reviews, new item recommendations to assist the Sales Team to make better decisions to accelerate growth. Access sales data from large customer portals to perform an analysis to identify growth opportunities and areas of concern. Recommend Plan-o-gram sets when needed. Provide compelling data and justification to pricing decisions for individual items, segments, and categories, supported by consumer, category and competitive intelligence. Manage the process of adjusting existing price lists when a change occurs (price changes of existing items, new items, and item discontinuation). Update Sales reporting templates to monitor the progress of the business for Sr. Mgt and Sales Team presentations. Create new reports as the business requires. Analyze customer trade promotion activity and make recommendations to increase efficiency & effectiveness by optimizing items, rates, frequency, tactics. Activate test & learn scenarios. Lead the quarterly forecasting process with Sales on top customers and priority SKUs. Analyze new customer terms and contracts to determine the impact on the business. Become point of contact to distributor/broker to gain access to customer information for analysis. Builds and maintains a strong relationship with Category Management personnel and collaborates with Sales Team on how best to leverage activities for incremental growth. Approve and sign off on all customer deductions and payouts. Track expenditures against the Sales & Marketing budgets and alert management to negative trends. Conduct an annual review of the product portfolio to determine its financial performance (revenue, margin) and make recommendations to discontinue poorly performing items. Create quarterly sales priorities and organize communication to distributors & brokers and monitor/track results. Assist Sales Team in a Joint Business Planning "test & learn" initiative providing customer specific insights and analytics. Education - The position requires a Bachelor's degree in Business Administration, Statistics or any related analytical field. Minimum of 2-4 years of proven experience analyzing sales data for business planning, forecasting and market intelligence by leveraging raw, unorganized data into actionable insights.
Language Skills - The ability to read, write and comprehend the English language. Ability to write reports and correspondence. Ability to speak effectively before groups of customers or employees of an organization.
Math Skills - Ability to add, subtract, multiply and divide in all units of measure, using whole numbers, common fractions and decimals.Ability to compute rate, ratio, and percent and to draw and interpret bar graphs.
Communication Skills - Ability to clearly communicate (verbal, written) in a clear and concise manner with sensitivity to confidential information.
Computer Skills - Proficiency in MS Office applications including Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Outlook with the ability to learn new software quickly.
Reasoning Ability - Must possess strong analytical, logical, and technical skills. Strong data-driven skills are needed.
Physical Demands - Must be met by an employee to perform the job successfully.

· The employee must occasionally lift and/or move up to 15 pounds.
· Specific vision abilities required by this job include close vision, distant vision, color vision, peripheral vision, and the ability to focus.
Work Environment - · The noise level in the work environment is typical of an office environment.
· The employee is occasionally exposed to the production environment where the environment is hot and humid or cold, with exposure to moving mechanical parts and high, precarious places with fumes and airborne particles and the nose level may be very loud.
Additional Skills - Experience with budgeting and trade promotion management best practices. Analytical expertise with sales data tools (e.g., IRI, Nielsen, Customer portal data) and Company financial reporting statements. Pet Food category and/or CPG experience is a plus. Proactive, self-starter with track record of delivering results. Highly organized and detail oriented with the ability to work effectively within a fast paced, complex and changing environment. Strong interpersonal skills with the ability to work independently and within a collaborative team environment. Must be able to convey complex information to a broad audience. Capacity to balance priorities across multiple internal and external stakeholders. EOE
