About Asian Pacific Islander Legal Outreach API Legal Outreach is the largest social justice legal organization focused on the Asian/Pacific Islander, Latinx, and immigrant communities of the Greater Bay Area and the Central Valley. A growing community-based organization founded in 1975, our mission is to provide culturally competent and linguistically appropriate direct services to the most marginalized segments of our community including low-income women, seniors, immigrants, and youth. Position Overview Reporting to the Director of Finance and Development, the Seasonal Accountant will assist our auditing team with the 2023 audit process. This position will involve collaborating closely with auditors to ensure accuracy and compliance with financial regulations. The ideal candidate will have a strong background in accounting, experience with audit procedures, and exceptional attention to detail. Location will be discussed as needed. The role requires a strong commitment to social justice, with frequent interactions with a wide range of stakeholders. The ideal candidate will be dedicated to serving underserved Asian and Pacific Islander communities and BIPOC communities in the Greater Bay Area.
Key Responsibilities: Support auditors in conducting the 2023 audit by providing accurate financial data and documentation. Assist in preparing audit schedules, reconciliations, and financial reports. Review financial statements for accuracy and completeness. Communicate effectively with auditors to address any queries or discrepancies. Ensure compliance with relevant accounting standards and regulations. Minimum Qualifications Bachelor's degree in Accounting or Finance. Proven experience working in accounting, preferably in audit-related roles. Proficiency in accounting software, preferably QuickBooks, and MS Excel. Strong analytical and problem-solving skills. Excellent communication and interpersonal abilities. Ability to work efficiently in a fast-paced environment and meet deadlines.
