Responsible for bidding, award, administration, and close-out of highly complex and technical contracts for construction, maintenance, professional technical services, consultants, and other related services.
Negotiate contracts/modifications, monitor performance and compliance, resolve claims/disputes efficiently, and promote sound contracting principles.
Proficient in all aspects of the contracting/procurement process, working independently, strong work ethic, and excellent customer service and communication skills.
(CA-V) Contract administration, gathering data for contractor evaluation, completing contract documentation, and closing out contracts for construction, maintenance, and professional services contractors.
Take the lead in establishing new contracts or department procedures as needed.
Mentor fellow associates as needed.
REQUIRED QUALIFICATIONS: Education: Bachelor's degree in Supply Chain, Business Administration, English, or other related areas.
Experience: Contract Agent, III - Six (6) years of contract agent or similar procurement administrative experience (utility industry preferred).
Experience should include qualifying contractors and bidding contracts.
Proficient in Microsoft Office Suite computer skills.
Experience in relational contract management databases.
Contract Agent, IV - Eight (8) years of contract agent experience (utility industry preferred).
Experience should include negotiating and interpreting contract terms and conditions; negotiating pricing, schedules, milestones; qualifying contractors; bidding contracts, and bid evaluation and analysis.
Excellent communication, conflict resolution, relational database management, and Microsoft Excel/Office skills are essential.
Contract Agent, V - Fifteen (15) years of contract agent experience (utility industry preferred).
Experience should include negotiating and interpreting contract terms and conditions; negotiating pricing, schedules, milestones; qualifying contractors; bidding contracts, and bid evaluation and analysis.
Excellent communication, conflict resolution, relational database management, and Microsoft Excel/Office skills are essential.
Equivalent Experience: Contract Agent, III - Associate degree and eight (8) years of contract agent or other procurement administrative experience (utility industry preferred).
Proficient in Microsoft Office Suite computer skills.
Experience in relational contract management databases.
Contract Agent, IV - Sixteen (16) years of contract agent experience (utility industry or related industry preferred); or two years of college plus twelve (12) years of contracting experience.
Contract Agent, V - Twenty (20) years of contract agent experience (utility industry or related industry preferred); or two years of college plus fifteen (15) years of contracting experience.
Licenses, Certifications, and/or Registrations: Certified Professional Supply Management (CPSM), Certified Purchasing Manager Certification (CPM), or Certified Professional Contracts Manager (CPCM) is preferred.
Specialized Skills: Lawson/Landmark, Web Intelligence, and SharePoint, all preferred.
Proficient in Microsoft Office Suite is a must.
