Role Summary The Senior Quality System Engineer will lead a number of key initiatives as part of the quality department at Electrify America. The role will report to the Manager, Quality System & Safety and is responsible for supporting QMS, quality dash-boarding, operational excellence including cross functional business process improvement/process mapping . Ideal candidate is one who is highly motivated to participate in a rapidly emerging and industry and will have experience working in a quality role in high-tech related industry where the pace of innovation requires constant problem-solving and process/continuous improvement.
Responsible for operating the Quality Management System (QMS), writing procedures and processes to support the QMS development. Lead and undertake audits across all areas of the business. Provide training and champion the Quality Management System. Role Responsibilities Main responsibility – Quality System Implementation and Ongoing Support - 60% of time Ensure that quality system requirements are established, implemented and maintained following internal and customer quality requirements. Provide analytical support and drive continuous improvements related to business objectives and KPIs, leading cross-functional teams across all relevant departments. Provide support during the Internal and External quality audits. Provide QMS support including QMS/Audit training Develop solutions to a variety of complex problems of diverse scope and complexity where analysis of data requires evaluation of identifiable factors. Additional responsibilities – Manage Key Quality Business Processes - 3 0% of time Lead corrective and preventative action (CAPA) activity and continuous improvement efforts as they relate to internal and external quality needs. Guide and support colleagues in the CAPA investigation process, assisting to remove roadblocks to timely investigation completion. Develop content and oversee deployment of training program ensuring compliance on training completion. Other Duties – 10% Present to management updates on quality system and business process improvements as required. Other duties as assigned Years Of Relevant Experience 5-7 years Education (Required) Bachelor's Degree in a technical discipline such as engineering Education (Desired) Advanced Degree Skills Strong track record of successful implementation of document control and QMS Excellent attention to detail and ability to track, follow-up and communicate milestones Proven abilities to manage vendors and vendor contracts Strong and proven self-management abilities and ability to achieve objectives People relationship management Influencing and negotiation skills Excellent interpersonal communication skills including listening and oral and written presentation of ideas Analytical and conceptual thinking skills Ability to interpret and communicate complex information Problem solving skills Excellent time management and planning skills, ability to multitask, ability to meet deadlines in a fast paced, changing environment with shifting priorities Customer focused Results oriented / tenacious achiever who get results Excellent computer proficiency- skilled in the use of MS office, statistical analysis, and quality management software Demonstrated record of precision & integrity in past work assignments Demonstrated high level of initiative Specialized Skills (Required) Possess knowledge of fundamental quality Management System and ISO 9001 Significant industry experience in quality practices and methods with ability to provide strategic guidance. Subject matter expert on business process improvement best methods with clear and demonstrated track record of driving process improvements. Experience participating in an audit program against a quality standard. Ability to work effectively within a team environment and collaborate cross-functionally Proven ability to work with large groups of people to upkeep process documentation Knowledge of measurement Experience with Risk Assessment Specialized Skills (Desired) Automotive industry experience Six Sigma ASQ certification ISO 9001 Internal Auditor Certification Work Flexibility Domestic Travel (10-15%) Electrify America is an Equal Opportunity Employer.
