The Opportunity: Hudbay Minerals Inc. is seeking a Contract Specialist at our Copper Mountain Mine in Princeton, BC. This position is a 5x2, Monday to Friday schedule - Hybrid.
Please note that this opportunity is NOT a fly-in-fly-out position. Position Contract Specialist Location Copper Mountain Mine is located near the town of Princeton, British Columbia.
Summary Reporting to the Superintendent, Materials Management, the Contracts Specialist is responsible for contract activities.
Key Responsibilities Practices safe work behaviors and supports the Copper Mountain Mine safety culture.Provides reports and attends meetings to update on current activities.Coordinates, develops, and issues RFPs.Obtains competitive pricing information from vendors and suppliers.Negotiates terms and conditions, as well as pricing.Generates reports, including commercial evaluations and budget reports.Coordinates with Document Control to ensure proper documentation maintenance.Prepares and manages Request for Proposal documentation, Purchase Orders, and Contracts.Works with suppliers to reduce costs by identifying opportunities and process improvements.Maintains strong communications with end users/requestors.Contributes to managing vendor selection and performance.Coordinates with Accounts Payable to ensure accurate and timely payment of invoices.Performs other responsibilities related to the contracts specialist role as required.Education & Experience Post-secondary degree or diploma in a technical discipline or bachelor's degree in business or closely related field.Supply Chain Management Professional (SCMP) designation is an asset.3-5 years of relevant work experience in a Contracts/Procurement role.Experience with Document Control systems.Experience with contract law and drafting contract clauses.Experience with ERP systems.Proficient in Google Workspace and Adobe/Nitro/PDF software.Possess a valid Class 5 or 7 driver's license and access to personal transportation.Required Skills Exceptional communication and negotiation skills.Ability to develop and maintain strong relationships.Excellent organizational skills and attention to detail.Results-oriented, self-motivated individual.Demonstrated mathematical skills.Ability to work efficiently as part of a team as well as independently.Required to meet pre-employment testing requirements.Working Conditions Frequent exposure to a team environment.Frequent exposure to sitting at a computer.Rare exposure to adverse temperature conditions.Work requires quick reaction to maintain operating efficiency.Rate of Pay $80,000.00 - $95,000.00 / annum
