Job Summary We are seeking a Contract Specialist for a full-time position supporting a federal customer at Camp Lejeune, NC. The selected candidate will provide significant support to Government-led procurement teams to acquire products and services.
Responsibilities and Duties Pre-Award Contract SupportProvide assistance to procuring contracting officers to analyze procurement actions and recommend a course of action.Support program teams in developing the acquisition support planning documents.Provide business analysis to determine "usual and customary" procurement practices to support specific contract actions.Conduct research and provide procurement recommendations to support acquisition strategies, including determining appropriate contract vehicles, procurement sources, and competition requirements.Develop and manage the processes to complete justification and approvals; determinations and findings; and other required pre-award contract documents.Conduct strategic and tactical market research.Solicitation / Source Selection SupportMake recommendations of procurement action to the Contracting Officer.Schedule, prepare, and assist in facilitating vendor conferences as directed by the Contracting Officer.Provide administrative support to source selection teams.Acquisition AssistanceAssist in training/guiding new contracting officer representatives (COR) on the acquisition process, developing requirements on an as-needed basis.Provide consultation to support program management reviews, performance monitoring, and other contract surveillance activities.Provide consultation to contracting officer representatives (COR) in their efforts to perform spend management and track deliverables.Support finance management professionals to ensure de-obligations.Assist contracts staff on the Procurement Desktop-Defense (PD2) contract writing system.Support contract closeout activities.Qualifications and Skills Six (6) years of military and/or civilian federal contracting experience.Experience conducting pre-award and post-award actions.Experience using Procurement Desktop Defense (PD2) to conduct contract actions.Advanced skills in the Microsoft Office Suite, particularly MS Word and Excel.Minimum Education/Training/Certifications Required: Bachelor's Degree or equivalent experience in federal contracting.Desired Qualifications: Defense Acquisition Workforce Initiative Act (DAWIA) Contracting Level II - or - Federal Acquisition Certification in Contracting (FAC-C) Level II Contracting.Benefits Excellent Salary (commensurate with experience)Paid Time-OffRetirement PlanBonus ProgramDirect DepositAcquisition Experts, LLC employs people from diverse places, with varied experiences and world views.
