This position is based out of our Crystal City, VA office with travel and remote work options supporting out-of-area DoD, Federal Civilian, and commercial customers as required.
The Contracting SME will provide multi-disciplinary support to government system acquisition program management offices and will serve as an adviser to government personnel.
Duties will include: providing strategic acquisition planning across the life-cycle of mission critical capabilities; providing guidance and insights in the areas of contract management, purchasing, negotiations, and vendor management; developing/evaluating COAs to implement rapid acquisition using OTAs; and developing/evaluating source selection criteria for major competitive contracting efforts.
Will work with senior government personnel on a regular basis, and will frequently be called on to provide briefings and lead large meetings.
The ideal candidate for this position possess U.S. Air Force and Space contracting experience with an active Top Secret/SCI clearance.
Contracting experience from other DoD service acquisition organizations is also considered highly relevant.

This individual is responsible for providing support services to ensure the effective and efficient delivery of acquisition services in support of the customers mission.
Services include some or all of the following:
Analyze and review requirements to determine the most effective acquisition strategies Participate in and lead collaborative working groups to improve customers ability to acquire mission critical products and services Develop contracting documentation across the entire contracting spectrum including pre-award, source selection and post award support Bid and proposal review/analysis Other related services associated with the contracting process
Qualifications:
To be successful in this role you will have:
A DoD Top Secret with Sensitive Compartmented Information (TS/SCI) clearance Master's Degree 10 years of Contracting experience with major acquisition programs 7 years in a leadership position Extensive knowledge of Air Force and Space contracting policies and procedures and application to development, production and fielding of major weapon systems Extensive experience with Defense Acquisition management processes as contained in the DoD 5000 series directives and the FAR/DFARS Ability to work effectively both independently and a part of a collaborative team Excellent communications skills, both written and verbal Travel up to 25% Additional desired experience and skills:
Experience working with Air Force Life Cycle Management Center, Air Force Material Command and Air Combat Commend Experience executing alternative/rapid acquisition authorities Broad experience with development, coordination and communication of contracting strategies and recommendations with mid- and senior-level Service and OSD personnel
