We are looking for a Control and Optimization for Smart Grids Intern to investigate new control and optimization functions for smart grids. This position will be based on-site in our New Jersey, USA office. Our close contact with different business units in Siemens provides the opportunity to contribute to and gain experience in real industrial applications. You'll make a difference by:
Contributing to industrial research projects for smart energy systems.
Collaborating and exchanging ideas with experts in the fields of control, optimization, and power systems.
Implementing concepts and solutions in prototypes and hardware.
You'll win us over by having the following qualifications:
Basic Qualifications:
A current or recently graduated student with an MS or Ph.D. in Engineering
Extensive knowledge of power system modeling and control.
Expertise in advanced automatic control and/or optimization concepts.
Advanced algorithm prototyping.
Programming knowledge in MATLAB and Python, e.g., writing reusable code.
Successful candidate must be able to work with controlled technology in accordance with US Export Control Law.
Preferred Qualifications:
Laboratory experience in electrical testbeds and embedded systems preferred.
Domain knowledge in power systems and microgrid preferred.
Excellent team working and communication (verbal & written) skills in English.
Flexibility and adaptability to work in a growing, dynamic, interdisciplinary team of experts.

The pay range for this position is $32,550 - $55,800.The actual wage offered may be lower or higher depending on budget and candidate experience, knowledge, skills, qualifications, and premium geographic location.
