Job Summary and Qualifications
Must have healthcare/hospital accounting experience
This position supports the mission of The Medical Center of Aurora/Centennial Medical Plaza of optimizing the quality of life of all those served by expanding beyond the traditional focus on medical needs to the needs of the whole person.
Responsible for the operations of assigned departments and the integration of the services within overall hospital functions.
Collaborates in decision-making structures and processes.
Accountable for the implementation of an effective and continuous program to measure, assess and improve performance.
Oversees the Finance, Accounting, Budget, Charge master functions.
Develops and maintains an effective system of internal controls.
Manages resources to achieve established budgets and goals.
Assures a high level of customer satisfaction.

What qualifications you will need:
Bachelor of Arts/Science in Accounting required
5 years hospital/healthcare experience; 2 years supervisory experience
Certified Public Accountant - preferred
Comprehensive knowledge of Generally Accepted Accounting Principles, Third Party Reimbursement and Internal Controls/SOX.
Strong problem-solving skills.
Ability to anticipate problems and work effectively to resolve issues.
Effective oral and written communication skills.
Demonstrates proficiency with computer systems and spreadsheets.
Located in Aurora, Colorado, The Medical Center of Aurora offers over 346 beds.
It has five medical campuses, including the Main South Campus, the North Campus Behavioral Health and Wellness Center, Centennial Medical Plaza, Spalding Rehabilitation Hospital, and Spalding Rehabilitation at P/SL.
The Main Campus is a Level II Trauma Center with Primary Stroke Certification and Chest Pain Center accreditation, serving the eastern metro area and I-70 corridor.
The South Campus has a Level III NICU.
