As the HVAC Contractor Controller, you will be responsible for managing all financial aspects of our business operations. You will work closely with the executive team to ensure financial stability, streamline processes, and drive profitability within our HVAC contracting business.This position is located in our Escondido, CA office.Responsibilities:Oversee and manage all accounting functions, including accounts payable, accounts receivable, payroll, and job costingPrepare accurate and timely financial statements and reports for management and external stakeholdersDevelop and maintain project budgets and financial forecastsMonitor project profitability and cost control measuresImplement and maintain internal controls to safeguard company assets and ensure compliance with industry regulationsManage cash flow, banking relationships, and financing activitiesAnalyze financial data to provide strategic insights and recommendations for business growthCollaborate with project managers and estimators to optimize project pricing and bidding strategiesQualifications:Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, or related field; CPA preferredProven experience (5-10 years) in a financial management role within the HVAC industryStrong understanding of construction accounting principles, job costing, and project managementProficiency in accounting software Sage and MS ExcelExcellent analytical skills with the ability to interpret financial data and trendsEffective communication and leadership abilities to work collaboratively across departmentsKnowledge of HVAC industry operations and regulatory requirements is a plusAbout Company:Sphere Mechanical is a leading HVAC Mechanical Contractor based out of San Diego.
