Description
We are seeking an experienced and detail-oriented Controller to oversee financial operations at our paper manufacturing facility in Ontario, California.
The ideal candidate will play a key role in providing financial leadership, ensuring compliance with accounting standards, and driving operational efficiency.
This position reports directly to the Mill Manager and collaborates closely with cross-functional teams.
Maintains and reconciles general ledger accounts on a recurring basis, including posting monthly journal entries, completing account reconciliations, providing variance analysis, and investigating discrepancies.
Conduct month and year end closing, reconcile, and balance all accounts and review monthly journal entries.
Complete a 4-day monthly close which includes reconciliation of all accounts.
Calculate KPI for Quarterly Incentive Program Provides the cost accounting expertise for the manufacturing operations.
Prepares financial statements and analytical reports as part of the monthly reporting package.
Ensures GAAP is incorporated into the management of the business.
Ensures appropriate internal controls are in place and supports effective and efficient annual financial and bank audits.
Works closely with manufacturing operations to ensure accurate and timely capture of all production costs and effective analysis of production variances.
Develop and maintain thorough financial procedures and systems.
Establishes, or recommends to management, major economic objectives, policies and controls Supervisory responsibilities for exempt and non-exempt level positions Other duties as assigned QualificationsFour-year degree in Finance, Accounting or related field CPA preferred 5+ years of experience in financial role in manufacturing environment Strong understanding of cost accounting and financial analysis.
Proficiency in financial software Excellent analytical skills with a strong attention to detail.
Strong communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to collaborate effectively across departments.
Proven leadership abilities and experience managing a finance team.
Demonstrated ability to make solid, objective, ethical decisions.
Ability to build professional relationships with internal and external clients.
Pay Transparency: The starting annual salary for this position ranges from $120,000 to $150,000 annual.
Other rewards may include annual bonus eligibility, which is based on company and individual performance.
