Position Overview: As the Controller, you will be responsible for overseeing all financial activities of the company, including accounting, budgeting, financial reporting, and internal controls. You will play a key role in providing strategic financial guidance to senior management, ensuring compliance with regulatory requirements, and optimizing financial processes to support the company's objectives.
Key Responsibilities: · Manage the day-to-day operations of the accounting department, including accounts payable, accounts receivable, general ledger, and payroll.
· Develop and maintain accounting policies, procedures, and internal controls to ensure the integrity of financial information and compliance with GAAP standards.
Prepare and analyze monthly, quarterly, and annual financial reports, including balance sheets, income statements, and cash flow statements, for presentation to senior management, Board of Directors, owners, and external stakeholders. Lead the budgeting and forecasting process, collaborating with department heads to develop accurate and realistic financial projections. Monitor financial performance against budget and forecast, identifying variances, and recommending corrective actions as needed. Coordinate and oversee the annual tax return filing, liaising with tax accountants and preparing tax schedules and documentation. Manage cash flow and liquidity to ensure adequate funding for operational needs and capital expenditures. Evaluate and implement financial systems and software to streamline processes and enhance efficiency. Stay current on accounting regulations and best practices, ensuring compliance with relevant laws and regulations. Qualifications: Bachelor's degree in accounting, finance, or related field; CPA designation a plus. 5+ years of progressive experience in accounting and financial management roles. Strong knowledge of GAAP principles and financial reporting requirements. Proficiency in accounting software and ERP systems; experience with Mapics is a plus. Excellent analytical skills with the ability to interpret complex financial data and draw meaningful insights. Strong leadership and management abilities, with experience leading and developing a team. Effective communication skills, with the ability to present financial information clearly and concisely to senior management, Board of Directors, owners, and various stakeholders. Detail-oriented with a high level of accuracy and integrity. Ability to thrive in a fast-paced, dynamic environment and adapt to changing priorities.
