Job Summary: Are you a financial whiz who loves juggling numbers as much as we love grooming beards? As our Controller, you'll be the financial backbone of The Beard Club, handling everything from accounting and inventory to budgeting and cash flow. We're a tight-knit team and we move fast, so we need someone who's not afraid to roll up their sleeves and dive into the next project we're focused on.
This isn't a remote gig—you'll be right here in our New Jersey HQ, rubbing elbows with the crew and making magic happen.
Key Responsibilities: Perform full monthly close of the company books in accordance with US GAAP standards.Prepare reports and analyses, including profitability by customer / channel / product line.Prepare and run weekly 13 weeks cash flow forecastManage all AR, AP, and bookkeeping activitiesManage, analyze and dispute when needed trade deductions across multiple retailersPrepare budget and forecast Manage sales tax filingsWork with external CPA on preparing the information for the year-end tax return filing; manage the process and all communications.Maintain internal safeguards for revenue receipts, costs, team and organizational budgets, and actual expendituresDevelop and enforce internal controls to maximize protection of company assets, policies, procedures, and workflowsImplement consistent accounting policies, practices, and procedures across all programs, adhering to US GAAP standards while remaining knowledgeable of proposed legislationEstablish (in coordination with executives) financial and operating benchmarks, budgets, program monitoring, and reporting standards on biweekly, monthly, and annual basisLead the implementation of NetSuite; manage the third party implementation consultant. What We're Looking For Minimum of 5 years of experience in accounting/finance, preferably within CPGStrong Understanding of banking processes and financial data analysisWorking knowledge of national and local tax regulations and compliance reportingExemplary history of financial project managementStrong knowledge of Netsuite and QBOExperience with inventory management and cash flow forecasting.Excellent organizational skills and attention to detail.Ability to thrive in a fast-paced, startup environment with a flexible, can-do attitude.Strong communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to collaborate effectively across teams.Ability to adapt and handle multiple priorities while maintaining accuracy and efficiency.Strong communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to collaborate effectively across teams.Ability to adapt and handle multiple priorities while maintaining accuracy and efficiency.
