The Role Based in the Scottsboro, AL area (Hollywood), the Controls Engineer will provide Electrical Controls and Robotic Engineering skills and leadership to achieve optimal levels of safety, quality, productivity, and delivery to ensure internal and external customer satisfaction.
As a Controls Engineer, you can expect your basic duties to include: Maintaining PLC-based control and robotic systems for manufacturing automation and instrumentationPerforming PLC ladder logic / robot programmingLeading all troubleshooting activities and debugging of robotics programsProgramming a variety of robotic / automated equipmentWorking closely with engineering team to define system control and robotic needsGuides design, develops and tests electrical control methods, materials, processes and resultsReviews and / or approve designs, calculations, or cost estimatesEvaluates designs or specifications to ensure qualityInstalls, calibrates, operates, and maintains robotsLeads projects and assist skilled trades in electrical disciplinesSupports electrical / controls troubleshooting and continuous improvement activitiesRecommends solutions to complex issuesMentors less experienced colleagues Provides key input into the development of departmental strategic goals and identifies key measurables to support departmental goalsGenerates wiring schematics and control drawings, maintains plant electrical and robotic drawingsTrains, coaches, and mentors colleagues What we're looking for: Experience performing duties similar to those listed would be a great start!Background and strong skills related to automation / robotics / controlsPLC programming experience with Allen-Bradley and SiemensRobotics troubleshooting / programming experience (ABB and/or Fanuc experience preferred)Experience troubleshooting high-voltage AC power (280V) and low-voltage DC power (24V)Previous WJ programming (ABB) would be a big plus
