Insight Global's building automation client is looking for a Controls Technician to service clients in the Chicagoland area.
The ideal candidate has knowledge of digital controls concepts and help resolve issues at customer sites.
This person will be responsible for going to customer sites, address issues or concerns related to the control system, communicate with the customer about the cause and effect, and follow up with a resolution on what repairs were completed.
Other responsibilities include:
-Communicate with customers via phone, email, and in person.
-Always practicing safety in the field.
-Reporting on projects and expenses- ordering materials that may be needed for a repair.
-Resolve technical problems related to HVAC systems.
-Program control systems using appropriate system program language.

Required Skills & Experience
Reliable vehicle and drivers license- they will get company vehicle once converted FTE.
HS diploma, GED, or equivalent.
3-7 years experience installing, retrofitting, and programming building automation system controls.
Able to program new sequences using softwares such as: Tridium (HVAC specific), Metasys, Niagara or Desigo etc.
Proficient in low voltage building automation control systems.
Experience with commercial/ industrial chillers, cooling towers, Computer literate with advanced TCP/IP networking skills and familiarity with IT programing for building systems (systems such as HVAC, Security, or Fire).
Nice to Have Skills & Experience
A+ certification.
Building automation engineering experience.
Trainings or certifications in the following: Access Control (Prowatch, C-Cure 8000 or 9000, Casi, etc.
), CCTV- Analog (Bosch, Pelco, American Dynamics, Cisco, etc.
), CCTV- IP (Genetec, Indigo Vision, etc.
), or Visitor Management (Honeywell Lobby Works, Stopware, Access Sentry).
Bachelors, Associates or 2-year technical school program (*electrical engineering).
