•Prepare meals according to menu specifications, paying close attention to dietary restrictions and nutritional requirements
•Follow recipes precisely, ensuring consistency and quality in every dish
•Work collaboratively with kitchen staff to ensure timely meal preparation and service
•Maintain a clean and organized work station, adhering to food safety and sanitation standards
•Properly store and rotate food items to minimize waste and maintain freshness
•Assist in portioning and plating meals with care and attention to presentation
•Communicate effectively with dietary staff regarding meal preparations and special requests
•Participate in menu planning discussions, offering creative and nutritious meal ideas
•Handle and operate kitchen equipment safely and efficiently
•Demonstrate genuine care for patients by preparing meals that meet their individual needs
Requirements
•High school diploma or equivalent; culinary school training preferred
•Minimum of 1 year experience as a line cook, preferably in a healthcare setting
•Strong knowledge of food safety and sanitation practices
•Ability to read and follow recipes and dietary instructions accurately
•Excellent attention to detail in food preparation and presentation
•Good physical stamina to stand for extended periods
•Flexibility to work various shifts, including weekends and holidays
