ResponsibilitiesJob Summary: Under the direction of the Radiology Director and Radiologist, the Nuclear Supervisor is responsible for the efficiency and effectiveness of the supervision of Nuclear Imaging services. The following statements reflect the general duties considered necessary to describe the principal functions of the job and shall not be considered as a detailed description of all the work requirements inherent in the position. Commitment to the delivery of competent patient care is supported by lines of communication and coordination with physicians, patients, and co-workers. Performs a variety of technical procedures that require independent judgment, ingenuity, and initiative to apply prescribed ionizing radiation for radiological diagnosis. Assumes responsibility for designated areas or procedures as required.
The Nuclear Supervisor will be available for emergency on-call procedures as required. Recognizes the need for control/assessment of pain for patients and helps to prevent or reduce patient pain levels when possible.
QualificationsPOSITION REQUIREMENTS: The Supervisor of Nuclear must be a High School graduate or equivalent with satisfactory completion of a formal Nuclear School of Medicine or equivalent. CPR Certification is required. Must be a registered technologist within the Nuclear Medicine Field and should have attained experience and possess capabilities as determined to be adequate by the Director and Medical Director of Radiology.
SKILLS AND ABILITIES: Use common sense and special medical skills to care for the sick or handicapped.Understand technical information from supervisors, charts, reference books, manuals, and labels.Use eyes, hands, and fingers with skill.Work fast in emergency situations.Effectively communicate with people when they are sick, handicapped, or nervous.Follow instructions exactly.Record information accurately.Ability to care for patients of all ages.
